Groceries
I went to the store the other day to pick up some groceries and man, let me tell you, I had the worst encounter with one of the cashiers. This person was just so rude and disrespectful, it really put a damper on my whole shopping experience. It's not surprising that folks steer clear of this store if they have to deal with that kind of attitude from the employees.
Kids causing chaos
This store is a mess! The new manager doesn't seem to have a handle on things. I saw kids riding bikes inside, running into people, and none of the workers did anything. On top of that, there weren't enough staff, so there was only one cashier open on a busy Friday night, leading to long lines and annoyed customers. And to make matters worse, the cashier was too young, so buying alcohol took even longer. It's obvious that they need some serious improvements in basic common sense at this place. I definitely won't be coming back anytime soon.
Groceries delivered, lots of substitutions
I ordered groceries online and had them delivered right to my house. It was awesome that a lot of the deliveries were free, but every now and then they had to switch things up on me and give me random items instead of what I originally asked for. For example, I was really craving some cool ranch Doritos, but ended up with plain tortilla chips instead. Total bummer! Plus, the store itself is a bit messy and the app can be glitchy at times.
Grocery shopping experience
As a regular customer at the store, I gotta say I always find the products to be fresh and top-notch quality. They often have great deals and discounts on different items, which definitely helps with saving some bucks. The staff is always friendly and provides top-notch service, making the whole shopping experience super chill and stress-free. It's definitely a great place to swing by when you need to stock up on essentials.
Rude staff, stale products
Man, let me tell you, the customer service at this grocery store is just awful. The staff is always so rude and unhelpful, and it's obvious that the higher-ups couldn't care less about fixing it. On top of that, the packaged products in the store are usually stale and gross. I mean, I used to come here every now and then, but after my last visit, I don't think I'll be back anytime soon.
EBT grocery online purchase
I recently did my shopping online with my EBT card and it was a total letdown. At first, I was told my items would cost $49.67, but when my order arrived, I saw charges for $4.99 for cookies and $4.69 for crackers, even though customer service said they were non-essential. But, EBT rules say otherwise - cookies and crackers are totally allowed. Plus, two things I ordered were missing and I got charged $11.99 for garlic powder and $7.99 for onion powder that I never even got. That's not cool, it feels like a scam. I'm going to report this to EBT ASAP. I want a refund for those cookies and crackers, they can't just give me cash for those.
Groceries
I had the worst time at the store. The people were super rude and didn't know anything. I was on hold on the phone forever. And the digital coupons app? It didn't even work! I'm never going back there again. I'll just shop at other places like SK and Aldi from now on.
Grocery purchase including meat, yogurt, etc.
As someone who shops at this grocery store regularly, I was really let down by my most recent online order. The meat I got was all wet and leaky with blood, which not only messed up the meat itself but also got on other stuff in the bag, like yogurt. The lack of care and good packing here is just not cool, and it makes me wonder if this spot is really keeping an eye on quality control. I had to toss the meat and then scrub down all my groceries - such a hassle just because of one mistake. Hopefully, they fix this problem fast so it doesn't happen again.
Vegetarian specialty items
I'm a vegetarian and I was super happy to see all the cool veggie stuff this store has that I usually can't find anywhere else. It's so easy to just come here for everything instead of running all over town to different stores. I also love the rewards program they have, especially the Fresh Pass for $99 a year. The points never expire, which is awesome because I can save them up and score some free groceries every now and then. My fave reward is the $5 off when I spend $5 or more. I really hope they don't team up with another store because I don't want prices to go up, especially when things are already so expensive. And they're the only place I can get my Arizona black and white tea with ginseng and honey - that's always on my shopping list.
Groceries and household items
I went to the Safeway on Kanan Road recently and it was not a great experience. When I walked in, there was a bad smell that turned me off right away. The atmosphere was unpleasant overall, and the customer service was lacking. I couldn't find help when I needed it to locate something specific I was looking for. It would have been nice if someone could have checked if they had it in stock and pointed me in the right direction, instead of just telling me to look through an aisle I had already searched. Customer service is super important in retail, and the lack of it at this Safeway was really disappointing.
Chicken breast, sourdough bread, prepackaged salad
My recent trip to the store was such a letdown. I had a specific dinner plan in mind, but everything seemed to go wrong. First of all, the boneless chicken I got ended up costing $3.00 more than it should have. What a surprise, not in a good way. Then, the sourdough bread I bought was not at all what I expected. It was more like a processed version with a weird sour taste, definitely not the real deal. And to top it off, the spring mix salad I grabbed was just spinach, no variety at all. Such a disappointment. The only good thing was the beautiful flowers in the department, everything else seemed more fit for animals or the compost bin than for people like me.

I have been coming to your store for a while now and I always have a good time shopping. The staff is usually super nice and helpful, except for this one person named YANIRA. She's always kind of grumpy and not very friendly. While everyone else is great at customer service, YANIRA really stands out in the wrong way. It's really important for all employees to make customers feel welcome, and YANIRA isn't doing that. I hope she can improve or maybe be put in a different role with less customer interaction. Overall, I really appreciate the awesome service from employees like Mary, John, Shannon, Reggie, Rod, Maria Ibarra, Deandre, Jose, and Eduardo. That's why I keep coming back to your store for all my shopping needs.
Food and essentials shopping
I love shopping at Safeway because the store is always clean and well-organized, with plenty of space to move around and good lighting. They have a wide variety of high-quality products like fresh fruits and veggies, meat, dairy, bakery goods, and all the essentials I need. The staff is super friendly and always willing to help out whenever I have a question. I also like that some stores have extras like flowers and you can even order Starbucks coffee. Safeway pretty much has everything I need when it comes to groceries, so it's always my first choice for shopping.

So, I bought some groceries and produce at this supermarket the other day and let me tell you, it was a total nightmare. Their website and app are just the worst! Every time I try to order something, the site crashes and I have to redo everything. And to make matters worse, whenever I try to add food items, they don't go in right. On top of all that, I found mold and bugs in some of the food items I got, which is just gross! Their online customer service is a joke too. They say a manager will get in touch but surprise, surprise, they never do. All in all, a super disappointing experience.
A Review of Safeway's Online Grocery Service
As a client of Safeway, I have had a generally positive experience with the company. Their online ordering system is easy to use and navigate, and I appreciate the wide variety of products available for purchase. The delivery process is also efficient and reliable, with my orders always arriving on time.
One area where I think the company could improve is in their communication regarding out-of-stock items. On a few occasions, I have had items in my cart that were listed as available, only to be informed after placing my order that they were actually out of stock. It would be helpful to have this information upfront so I can make adjustments to my order before completing the purchase.
Overall, I am satisfied with my experience using Safeway for online grocery shopping.
