I ordered some frozen food from your online store recently, and I gotta say, I was pretty bummed by the lack of options for customizing substitutions. In the past, customers could pick which items they didn't want substitutions for, but now it's like it's all or nothing. It's kind of a pain for folks like me with specific dietary needs or likes. It would be great if the website could let us choose our substitutions one by one, and maybe even have someone give us a call to confirm before they process the order.
Milk, 5 miscellaneous items
My recent trip to the store was really nice. I only went to grab some milk and a few other things, but I ended up finding some awesome deals and spending $70. Of course, I came across a price error, but Yarma at the courtesy desk took care of it quickly and with a smile. She even went out of her way to help me find my cottage cheese in the Dairy department. And Luis, the manager, was super helpful in fixing a problem with the price of some frozen food. These two really made my shopping trip a lot better.
Deli worker assistance with salad and platter order
I just went to the deli at the store and got some amazing service from Anita, one of the employees there. She was super helpful and nice. Anita helped me pick out salads and even took the time to help me with a platter order. Being an older customer, I really liked how patient and dedicated she was to giving great customer service. I think employees like Anita really make a big impact on the shopping experience.
Fresh smelt
Hey, I picked up a smelt for our Christmas Eve dinner but it was totally not fresh at all. It still had scales on it and didn't taste good. Plus, the veggies at the store were all old and gross. You guys need to step up your game.
Annual grocery delivery pass
I really wish I hadn't bought that annual grocery delivery pass from that grocery store. The deliveries were always late because they didn't get the orders ready on time, which was so annoying and inconvenient. Even though I paid extra for on-time delivery, there were so many delays that just ruined the whole thing for me. And when I tried to get a refund for the bad service, they didn't give me a good solution. To sum it up, I wouldn't suggest using that grocery delivery service.
Groceries
The prices at this place are just way too high. I can't even believe how much I had to fork over for some basic groceries that I usually find cheaper at other stores. It's obvious that they care more about making money than offering reasonable prices for us customers. I definitely won't be coming back here anytime soon.
Bagging issues with rude staff
The store has really bad customer service and their bagging practices are terrible. A lot of times our items end up getting damaged and the staff members are really rude when we complain. They also overcharge us and don't honor their sales. Their prices are much higher than other stores and it seems like they care more about making money than keeping their customers happy. Every time we shop there, we end up with spoiled food and when we try to talk to them about it, they treat us badly. Stay away from this store no matter what!
Shrimp Misrepresentation
I just bought a bag of shrimp that was supposed to have 16 - 20 shrimp per pound, but when I weighed it, 20 shrimp were less than 7 ounces. I was really let down by this mistake and felt like I had to say something about it by leaving feedback on the website. However, when I tried to post my complaint on the Giant Food website, I couldn't find a way to do it. The contact page had a feedback loop that made it impossible to submit any complaints or concerns. It's frustrating and disappointing that the company doesn't seem to care about customer feedback or their experiences.
Self-checkout experience
Man, have you tried Giant Food's self-checkout machines? They're crazy! They treat everyone like they're up to no good, it's super frustrating. They never used to be this bad, but now it's like they don't trust anyone. It's ridiculous! And don't even get me started on their customer service, it's awful. I hardly shop there anymore because of it. I mean, there are definitely better grocery stores in Columbia and Ellicott City, no doubt about it.
Meat sale price frustration
I gotta tell you, I went to that grocery store the other day and man, was I not happy. I picked up some meat that was supposed to be on sale, but it turns out the sale price was only if you had some digital coupon. That's just not cool. I saw the sign, thought I was getting a deal, and then bam, got hit with the regular price at checkout. I'm definitely gonna have a chat with the manager about this because it's just not right for them to trick customers like that.
Floral plant purchase
Let me just say, I really didn't like how I was treated when I was just trying to do some shopping. I went in looking for a flower plant, but things got awkward because of a security guard. I grabbed a little cart with a paper in it, checked out the flowers by the entrance, and then decided not to buy anything. When I was taking the cart back toward the door, the guard mentioned something about the wheels locking up if I took it outside. I just left the cart at the front and felt uncomfortable when the guard touched the paper. It's a bummer that I couldn't even wander around without feeling like I was being singled out somehow.
Grocery delivery service
I was really surprised by the recent decision to start charging a $9.95 delivery fee instead of no fee at all. I think this change will probably make a lot of customers, including me, not want to use the grocery delivery service anymore. The fact that they raised the fee to match Whole Foods just seems unfair and might make them lose some loyal customers. Also, it's worrying that the Instacart delivery people don't seem to be trained properly because my groceries were just left in the middle of my driveway, which was really inconvenient and kind of dangerous. It's just frustrating to see dumb decisions being made that make the customer experience worse.

I'm so frustrated with ordering delivery from places that tack on extra fees without telling you and then provide terrible service.
Grocery delivery order
I'm never ordering groceries from this place again. Every time I order, it shows up late, and they only tell me about out-of-stock items after I've already been charged. It's so annoying because then I have to make an extra trip to another store to get the stuff they didn't have.
