One afternoon I was watching three squirrels waiting in the maple while my husband filled the Birdfy camera feeder — they knew the routine, waited, then dove in and ate like it was buffet hour. We've had the feeder a year and it’s been great for watching cardinals and chickadees, but those squirrels made every refill a little annoying. We kicked around the seed guard idea but hesitated at the price — $30 felt meh. So I was pleasantly surprised when I checked the Birdfy site and found it cheaper than we remembered, and shipping was free, which made the decision easy. It looks like a simple fix — should slide on and feel sturdy, not clunky. Can’t wait to see the first morning with the birds getting their turn (we do leave other feeders open, so no total squirrel ban). If you’re tired of the greedy tree gang, this seems worth trying. I’ll update after it’s installed.

I was on the fence at first — thought maybe it wouldn't last with all the squirrels. Turns out it's been solid; we've had two of these feeders and they take a beating. The last one broke at the perch so I epoxied and jammed in a couple steel rods, handyman style. Ordered a spare today for peace of mind. Fits into my morning birdwatching
