Halfway through the third morning I remember thinking this place actually grows on you. Room feels lived-in, heavy towels, soft bed, little balcony where I ended up sipping coffee more than once. Shows were decent, food mostly hits, some dishes were meh. Housekeeping was reliable — they left the room tidy every day — and the bell hops, especially Efrain, were super helpful getting taxis and luggage. I've had worse service at big chains, so that counted for a lot.
Almost Perfect Retreat
they remembered tiny things, like my bad coffee habit and my usual table, which was a nice surprise. Golfers will love the course, and the beach is perfect for long walks.
Fits our needs
It fits our needs, so we're coming back. We've stayed three times at Villa del Palmar Loreto and it's been consistently solid — airport pickup, friendly lobby, and once an unexpected room upgrade. Concierge (Miguel, Sonia, Magda) sorted bookings and small hassles; Oscar's crew and Gerando at Mia Casa made meals painless, and Antonio and Gloria at Market were helpful too. Carlos and the Danzante team ran reliable fishing and island trips; they remembered us as Canadian ice fishers, which I appreciated. I use the place to unplug between work stretches and get some decent fishing in.
Pulled-up surprise
We pulled up thinking it'd be just another beach hotel, but the booking emails arrived on time, luggage was waiting, and the staff actually remembered my bad coffee order. Delivery of towels and room service was fast, front desk fixed a tiny mix-up spotless. Been using it for weekend resets — it's easy to relax here.
Quiet spot, helpful staff
Miguel and the staff. He noticed small things, sorted a room upgrade from a studio to a one‑bed without fuss, and kept checking on details; that kind of attention stuck with us. We also took a snorkeling/boat trip and were surprised at wildlife — dolphins, a manta, sea lions — not just under the water but along the way. Rooms were comfortable, nothing flashy, clean, and functional. A few minor hiccups at check‑in but nothing major. If you go, consider renting a car and ask about upgrades quietly — you might get lucky like we did. Would come back, yeah.
Little moment that sealed it
a patient dive master, Alan, who gave snacks, shared local stories and made the whole dive feel safe and interesting; a guide named Ramses who did the island tour with real enthusiasm and local facts; and a hike with views of Danzante Bay that I’ll replay in my head. Rooms were calm, clean, nothing flashy but comfortable, and daily shows were lively without being cheesy. Minor timing hiccup with one activity, but it didn’t matter. All in all, the switch from polite to genuinely pleased happened early, and that stuck. I’d go back.
