why does mine feel so unlike the floor model? I contacted support and bounced between the brand and the local distributor for a while. That back-and-forth was meh — lots of polite wording, not much of a fix. Still, I kept using them, because sound is the real test for me.
After a few days of listening — late evenings, weird playlists, podcasts, quiet rooms — there was a moment where I just sat back and thought, “yeah, this works.” The imaging, the balance, the way vocals sit in a mix — that’s where I found satisfaction. The dial still isn’t identical to the demo, and I can sense a slight stiffness sometimes, but it stopped bothering me as much as I expected. It’s not perfect, there are rough edges: customer service could have been clearer, and the whole repair/inspection story felt like a shrug sometimes. But the product itself does what I bought it for, reliably.
So, mild gripe about fit-and-finish and the support dance, but overall I’m using them every day and satisfied with the core experience. If you’re picky about every tactile detail, this might bug you. If you care more about how it sounds and performs in real life, it probably won’t be a dealbreaker.A weird mix of great sound and awful aftercare
the sound signature and materials feel properly premium, not fake marketing-speak. The pads are soft, the finish looks solid, and for a while I thought, okay, maybe this is worth the price. Then the fit problem showed up. From day one there was a subtle but constant asymmetry on my unit — one side pressed differently and after a month it became painful. Not just annoying; I had headaches and pressure spots after short sessions. I swapped to another unit to check and the second pair was fine, so it was clearly my unit’s QC issue, not the model per se.
Solid sound, shaky paperwork
nice weight, soft ear pads, the clamp is firm but not suffocating, and the noise cancellation actually lets me nap on flights. Sound is clean, stage is wide enough for podcasts and music, and the controls sit where my thumb expects them. So yeah, happy with how they feel and sound (and honestly relieved I don’t have to deal with that old sore neck anymore).
But the buying experience at the Amsterdam store turned into a mess over the tax-free thing. I was upfront that I’m a non-EU resident and asked for the VAT refund. Salesperson told me to get the form stamped at Schiphol customs and then WhatsApp photos to a number they gave. At the airport customs told me they don’t stamp forms anymore and that the retailer has to register the sale in the tax-free system. The problem: the store hadn’t registered it. So after standing in lines and losing time, my refund on a €600 purchase was gone — about 12–15% VAT down the drain because of poor handling.
I tried everything afterward: called the number listed online, messaged via WhatsApp, emailed customer support with a compensation request, even followed links from their team. No replies, no acknowledgement, nothing for days. For a premium brand I expected better follow-up, at least a phone call. It’s frustrating because the headphones themselves are good — they do what I bought them for — but the post-sale support and tax-free handling need fixing. I’m grateful the product performs, but I want the store to take responsibility and respond. Please get back to me with a clear next step; this situation shouldn’t be left hanging.Great sound, then months of radio silence
fit, finish and sound were all very good, and that actually surprised me given all the fuss around the price. The problem started after a clear hardware defect and a long chain of warranty returns. One repair was sent back the same day it arrived, untouched. Another repair sat in the US for weeks. Eventually they approved a replacement, but customs paperwork — apparently prepared by the seller or their logistics partner — was wrong and UPS billed me about €350. B&O admitted the mistake and told me I shouldn’t have paid it, asked for bank details and said they’d sort it. Then nothing. Months of silence, no refunds, no updates. Oddly, after I escalated publicly I did get the refund, so that worked, but only after a lot of chasing. Bottom line: product’s fine, delivery and aftercare are unreliable.
