I needed a proper winter coat after my old one fell apart mid-commute — cheap fabric, seams splitting, you know the story. Was a bit skeptical ordering a duffle online, especially when my first color choice was out of stock and they sent an alternate. Packaging was tidy, DHL got it to me fast, and the real turning point was when I buttoned it up walking home in a cold wind — felt solid, warm, like it knew what it was doing. It’s heavier than those lightweight designs, which I expected, and yeah, pricey because it’s wool, but the fit (medium as usual) and the British-made finish made me nod and accept the cost. Will check them again for a peacoat.
Gift that never showed up
I thought I was done — paid in full for a coat that the site said would ship early December — but then a few days later when I asked for tracking they tell me it's a pre-order. Weird, because the site didn’t say that when I bought it. I would not have picked it as a Christmas present if I’d known (lesson learned). Since then the emails just keep pushing the date back and back, vague dates, no real plan. The “free” bonus item they threw in for the big order? Still nothing (would’ve been nice to at least get that to hand over as a placeholder). I still want the coat — looks great — but the delivery and customer service handling have been clumsy compared to other stores I’ve used. Pretty disappointed, honestly.
Relief after a messy order
I was packing for a move and needed a warm Shelley jacket — had thrown out my old one and my back acts up in the cold, so I couldn't risk being without it. I ordered one that said "in stock" and then, yeah, crickets for two weeks. Phone never picked up, emails mostly ignored. I kept chasing and finally got a message that it was actually out of stock. Not great, but the bit that made me breathe easy was when they finally processed a full refund and the money landed in my account. That moment I felt grateful — I could go buy something else and stop worrying. Still, the whole process was clunky, the site showing it available while it wasn't is weird, and customer service could've been faster. Overall relieved it ended okay, and I appreciate the refund, so thanks again.
Not as long as advertised
I was hoping for a proper long scarf and I did not get one — close, but not enough. I first saw this on Gloverall’s site after a friend (yes, the kind who forwards shopping links) swore they had an “oversized” option. My checklist was simple: over 200 cm and 100% wool. The listing ticked both boxes and I pulled the trigger despite the steep EU shipping and customs — which, fair, I expected to sting a bit. Package arrived in a few days, no drama there, and at first glance the thing is lovely, soft, classic. Then I measured it and, well, it’s listed as 215 cm but measures 208 cm including the fringe. So where did seven centimeters go? That gap matters to me because I wanted something noticeably longer than the usual scarf. I emailed customer service and didn’t get a reply, which left me kinda annoyed and a little resigned. Bottom line: nice material, decent delivery, but misleading length and poor follow-up — so I’m lowering my enthusiasm (and my stars).
Birthday sweater drama, but a decent finish
the replacement finally arrived and it was packaged much better and the quality was noticeably improved. Not perfect — the whole process cost extra time and stress — but the final product is good and my husband likes it. Would I be more cautious next time? Definitely. Would I write them off entirely? Not anymore; they can make it right, just hope they speed things up and pay more attention first time around.
A well-made coat, solid delivery
the fit was immediately obvious, not tight anywhere and not baggy, sleeves the right length. Felt like someone actually measured properly instead of guessing. The wool is even and dense, no thin patches or uneven color, and the toggles (leather and horn bits) look like they’ll hold up; they’re not dainty but not clunky either. The hood sits well whether up or down, it doesn’t flop all over the place, and when it’s up it gives enough coverage without swallowing the wearer. My husband prefers an unlined coat and I appreciated that option — we checked with customer service beforehand and got a clear, prompt reply the same day, which made the choice easier.
