Finally a small win with that annoying pump March 29, 2026

it was a random morning and I unwrap a gifted bottle of shower gel, all excited to try it, and the pump is basically dead. I tried twisting, nudging, all the usual dumb things, and every time it stuck I ended up smeared with gel and had to wipe the nozzle so I could try again. It got messy fast — the gel is thick, so it wouldn’t go back in the bottle and it just felt wasteful. I kept thinking, “this can’t be right,” because otherwise the scent was nice and it would have been perfect for my quick weekday showers. I use these kinds of products every day, half asleep, so a stubborn pump is just annoying.
So I reached out to customer service. It wasn’t instant magic, there were a couple of emails back and forth, some requests for photos — which I get — and at first I was bracing for the usual runaround. I told them it was a gift and explained I couldn’t find the buyer’s info, and yeah, that part was awkward. I admit I didn’t have every little detail they asked for. But what changed things was when someone on the team actually responded with a practical fix: they offered to send a replacement pump and walked me through a simple trick to clear the tube so I wasn’t losing gel every attempt. Not a grand gesture, not over the top, but the moment I popped the new pump on and it clicked into place and actually dispensed smoothly — that was the relief. I stood there in my bathroom, slightly overdramatic, but happy, because it meant the product could actually be used like it was meant to be.
So yeah, the start was annoying and could’ve been handled better, but the interaction ended on a helpful note and I’m using it every morning now. It’s those small fixes that make me feel like they listened. I still think they could streamline how they handle gifts and proof stuff, but I’m pleased now that the gel gets to do its job.
