I was unpacking boxes after a move and figured a wall safe would calm my nerves — passports, small electronics. The MyCube I ordered seemed right but the latch stopped working within a month. I wondered if I’d installed it wrong, so spent ages with their help desk troubleshooting, sending photos and trying tricks. Eventually they said it couldn’t be fixed and offered a gift card for roughly 80% back. Returning it was a pain — mandatory photos, hoops to jump through — felt like they were trying to make it difficult. I bought a $100 wall safe on Amazon that honestly looks and feels about the same (not fireproof either). The latch failure was the worst part and the return process rubbed me wrong, but I’m oddly relieved the cheap replacement actually works, even if I regret spending $600.
Not what I expected
I remember opening the crate and thinking, this is solid. It arrived on time and was well packed. I put my stuff in and started using it the first week. First impression was good — heavy, tight door, felt secure. A few weeks in I noticed the lock was sticky. No big deal, I thought, I'll call. That’s where it fell apart. Support takes forever. They ask for the same photos and videos over and over, even though I already uploaded them. You explain it. They say they’ll escalate. They promise a callback and a video meeting. Then nothing. You wait. You send reminders. They write back later and ask for the same files again. It’s maddening. The clock keeps running on the warranty while they “investigate.” Months of back-and-forth and no meaningful fix. Eventually the warranty lapses and they say there’s nothing they can do. I asked for a refund or exchange early on. They kept delaying. I feel like they stretch things until the customer is out of options. Delivery itself was fine — fast and undamaged. Ordering was straightforward. The safe looked and felt great at first, honestly. But the customer service ruined it. Small hope left that they might improve, but right now I’d warn others to be careful.
