Solid bike. That's my take after racing a half-iron this weekend. I bought the Orro Venturi Ultegra last year and rode it through a season of training before racing it. In the race it felt stable, responsive and fast where it mattered. No drama, just reliable performance. First rides were a bit stiff, took a few weeks to settle in. I was surprised how many people asked about the frame — two marshals stopped me separately to compliment Orro build quality. Small thing, but it stuck with me and recommend it.
Finally made the switch
I wasn't sure I wanted to switch from my 13-year-old Cube Lightning — it's been reliable and I was nervous about changing geometry and making my lower back worse. I wanted something more aero but comfortable; most aero bikes I test rode felt awkward. A coworker mentioned Orro, which I'd never heard of. No dealers had the Venturi STC Airblade in stock, so I called the manufacturer and spent about three hours at their factory — tour, questions, seeing the build. That calmed most doubts. Bought via C&N Cycles in Redhill, had a bike fit from Paul, and it actually fits me perfectly. Practical, good value, glad I did it.
Needed a tweak, now I’m really liking it
I bought an Orro Terra flat bar in December and, honestly, I almost sent it back after the first few rides. The crank and bottom bracket sounded like someone was rattling coins under the frame from day one — creak, knock, ugh. I was skeptical and kept second-guessing the whole decision. In the end I swapped the FSA for a Shimano 105 crankset and put in a Wheels Manufacturing threaded PF30 bottom bracket. Big change — way smoother, no more annoying noises. Tried to get help from Orro by chat and email a couple times but never heard back, which is a bummer. Still, after the upgrades the bike rides great and I’m glad I stuck with it.
Factory visit sped things up
I didn't expect to be invited into the back of the workshop, but I was. Stopped by Orro's factory near Brighton, met the team, they were friendly and even made me a cup of tea — simple, honest. I ordered the Orro Gold STC Rival through Cycle 2 Work while there. The voucher processing took a few days, but the crew had already started building mine, and once the paperwork cleared the bike was delivered the next day. Quick turnaround was the standout for me. Took it on a 39-mile ride the next weekend and it handled exactly like you'd hope. I'll be using it for daily commutes and longer weekend spins. Pretty satisfied overall, good value.
Surprise Sunday ride
I wasn't planning on getting another bike — honestly I just needed something comfy for my aching lower back and a reliable set-up after a rough move — but Mark at Crown Cycles made it so easy I caved. Delivery was dead-on time, the bike came nicely packed and he even tweaked the saddle and bars before handing it over. The Orro Terra X feels stable and snappy at the same time; my wife calls it her new favorite and keeps riding it instead of the other dozen bikes we own. Customer service was patient, answered dumb questions, and didn't rush us. Not perfect — the saddle was a touch firm at first and there was a tiny scuff that we ignored — but overall it's great and exactly what she needed. If you value good delivery and people who actually care, these folks are solid.
Almost didn’t bother, but glad I did
they fixed the problem once it was visible. Still, I shouldn’t have had to escalate just to get what was in the quote. Bottom line: the product and price were fine, some people there are great, but the follow-up and communication can be patchy. I’ll probably stick with bigger names for future orders unless I know exactly who I’m dealing with at Orro.
Cozy but a bit of a shipping saga
I first saw these merino tops on a friend’s stories — she kept wearing one and it looked so soft I had to ask where it was from. So I ordered two, mostly because the color options were nice and the price felt right for a try (discounted, which helped me take the plunge). The tops themselves are honestly lovely. They drape nicely, the knit feels smooth against the skin, and they’re warm without being heavy — great for layering. I’ve worn one a few times already and it hasn’t pilled or stretched, and the seams sit well (not itchy or sloppy). Fit-wise they’re fairly true to size, though if you like a really fitted look you might size down; I kept mine relaxed on purpose and I’m happy with that. Fabric breathes too, so I didn’t end up all sweaty after a long day, which was a nice surprise. So, product-wise, thumbs up — good value for what you actually get, and I’d say the quality looks like it’ll last a while.
