    The odd cloned gift card

I bought a gift card for Christmas — wrapped it, felt clever, you know the drill — and months later the recipient tries to use it and there’s only $1 on it. That was my first “huh?” moment. I called customer service thinking okay, easy fix, but the whole thing turned into a weird loop. First person kind of shrugged and said the card was cloned and I needed to contact Sephora (wait, what?). So I called back and the rep acted like I’d handed him a used ticket — “it’s already been used,” he said, like that explained anything. I explained again, slowly, that the recipient hadn’t used it and that we were told it was cloned. He basically washed his hands of it and told me to go through my bank. I felt rushed off the phone, like I was interrupting lunch. Annoying, for sure. On the plus side I did come away with clear next steps — not fixed, but at least I know who to pressure next. Annoyed but slightly more prepared.

Ghost delivery turned into a decent outcome

Woke up to a "delivered" notice and no cologne. Strange start to the day. I’d ordered a new scent to wear to work and on weekend dates, so yeah, I was bummed. I waited a day thinking maybe the neighbor grabbed it or the driver was ahead. When I finally chatted with customer service I sat there for a while, and the first rep was pretty blunt — because my account was new they couldn't help with a refund or replacement. That made me salty, real quick. I called back though, and the next person actually listened, dug into the tracking, and escalated it. Took longer than it should have, and I had to repeat things, but in the end they offered a refund and a small credit for the trouble. Not perfect. Delivery clearly failed. But the follow-up turned my skepticism into relief. I still won’t love that account rule, but I’ll give credit where it’s due — they fixed it.

Porch drama, fixed by a real person

Halfway through my coffee, my tracking said "delivered" and it was supposed to be on my porch — except it never made it into my hands. I’m not the kind to panic, but leaving packages unattended really feels wrong, and I was worried it was gone. I emailed at first and heard nothing back, which was annoying, but then I called customer service and that changed everything. The rep actually listened, apologized, checked the tracking details, and either issued a refund or arranged a quick replacement — I lost track of the exact phrasing because I was relieved. Compared to other places where I waited a week for a reply, this was a pleasant surprise. Delivery itself was sloppy — left outside and marked done — but the support team cleaned it up and kept me updated the whole time, which I appreciate. So yeah, delivery gets a low mark, but the ordering experience and service made me glad I stayed with them this once. I’m grateful it ended well and would try them again, hoping the delivery side improves.

    Delivery left me hanging

I never got my order and Sephora Spain didn’t do anything useful about it. I ordered about €240 worth of stuff online, the courier even admitted in messages that he’d left the package in the wrong place, and then the tracking suddenly showed “delivered” under my NIE. I contacted customer service, they said they “investigated” and then closed the complaint because the courier marked it delivered — no refund, no replacement, nothing. I’ve called, emailed, and waited on hold more than once, but it all just went in circles. I’ve had better responses from smaller shops and other big retailers who at least escalate or offer a refund while they sort it out; here I felt ignored. The products themselves (if you ever get them) seemed fine from what I could tell, so it’s not perfect but not totally hopeless — this is purely about the delivery and the follow-up. I’ll be filing a formal consumer complaint and doing a chargeback through my bank unless they actually do something useful soon.

Not going back anytime soon, honestly

I won’t rush back to the Riverhead Sephora. I went in to restock my perfume stash—I buy fragrances regularly and was planning to drop a few hundred dollars because I needed these for gifts and my own rotation—so I came ready to shop. Conclusion first: the service felt flat and a bit dismissive, even though the store wasn’t busy. A bunch of staff were standing around chatting and laughing; fine, but nobody offered help or even a “hey, brb,” so I wandered around trying not to look awkward. To be clear, I didn’t feel it was race-related, just unprofessional and surprising compared to Smithhaven and Shirley where service is usually great. I did buy one thing — well, okay, I bought something — and the cashier was polite, so it wasn’t a total loss. Still left feeling undervalued and likely to return the item and shop elsewhere. Hope they tighten up the floor staff a bit.

Mixed bag but refund finally came

Halfway through the whole thing I was ready to throw in the towel. I bought a foundation I needed badly for a small move + a job interview (yeah, multitasking stress) and I’d already been burned by returns before, so I was skeptical from the start. I sent the item back properly, tracked it, and then started the waiting game. Multiple chats that felt robotic, the same “expect your refund” line on repeat — I hate repeating myself. What’s weird is that after about three weeks someone finally gave me a proper, human reply and the refund actually showed up. So, relief there — I’m genuinely glad it worked out in the end. That said, a few days earlier I was sent another customer’s order number and partial payment info, which freaked me out (GDPR, hello?). That’s a real problem and shouldn’t happen. Overall delivery was fine, price was okay, ordering was clunky, and customer service felt hit-or-miss until the last chat. Gratitude for the refund, annoyance about data handling, and honestly I’ll shop again but much more cautiously — and I’ll double-check return deadlines next time.

Not perfect, but they came through

I first heard about Sephora from a friend who swore by their picks, and after a decade or so I'm still ordering — mostly because they're reliable. This time, though, my package showed as delivered and never arrived. No photo, no signature, nothing. I was annoyed and honestly a bit stressed, especially since I was juggling a family medical emergency at the same time. I called customer service and escalated the case. The first few exchanges felt slow and a little bureaucratic. Then someone actually listened. They reviewed everything, asked the right questions, and decided to send a replacement. That surprised me — and in a good way. They even upgraded the shipping on the re-send, which I didn't expect. Delivery itself was the weak link here; the carrier's proof was useless. But the way Sephora handled the follow-up mattered more. Compassionate, professional, and they didn't make me fight for it once it was escalated. So yeah, not flawless. But when things went sideways they did the right thing, and that counts for a lot.
