would it even work from Norwegian to Spanish? Would the site behave like a real website? Those doubts never left. The content itself surprised me in a good way. The phrasing and audio were clear, and the Norwegian-to-Spanish lessons are actually pretty well put together. But then the website hits a wall: it keeps telling me to “swipe” or “tap,” which is just annoying on a laptop. It feels like an app dumped into a browser. I don’t want a game-show interface when I’m trying to study on a big screen. So my initial worries about usability were confirmed, not eased. I like the material, and I might use the app reluctantly, but I expected a usable desktop site and that expectation wasn’t met. A fix for the web UI would change everything.
Trial mix-up that nearly put me off
they wouldn’t refund because I’d used a trial five years ago and had signed up via the Apple Store. That wasn’t on the trial page. Not even close. It made everything feel dodgy and I stopped using the app for a bit (maybe out of principle). On a second follow-up they told me to contact Apple. I did, and Apple refunded the $70 quickly. So I’m relieved, honestly. Still annoyed at the lack of clarity. I’m glad it worked out in the end though — and I might give the app another shot for those quick daily sessions.
Almost turned it off — then it clicked
I rolled my eyes at first. I’ve been burned before by trial traps and sneaky renewals, so I started out pretty skeptical. But I gave it a shot, mostly to see what the fuss was about. The first couple of sessions felt basic, nothing mind-blowing, and I almost stopped using it. Then, weirdly, after about a week I hit a little streak where the lessons actually stuck. I remember the exact moment I knew I was satisfied: I was on a walk, tried a short phrase out loud, and it came out right — not perfect, but usable. That tiny win changed everything for me. The app’s bite-sized lessons and pronunciation practice finally lined up with my brain, and I started looking forward to the five-minute drills. Customer support wasn’t perfect — I did have a clumsy interaction early on that made me tense — but after that, responses were quick and helpful enough to keep me going. Compared to some other companies that overpromise or hide terms, this one felt more honest once you start using it; the value showed up in the actual practice, not just the sales copy. I’m still a bit wary of subscription stuff — I check my settings now — but overall I’m happy I stuck with it. It wasn’t love at first click, more like suspicion that slowly turned into “yeah, this works.” If you’re cautious like me, give it a little time; that first real sentence you manage to say is worth it.
Almost gave up, then a small win
I tapped what I thought was a free trial link, and minutes later there was a charge on my card. Great. So yeah, I was furious, and I messaged support right away. The moment I started to calm down was weirdly specific — when the rep said they’d looked into it and put through a partial refund while cancelling the yearly plan. Not everything was perfect, and it took longer than I liked, but seeing that refund hit my account was the turning point where I thought, okay, maybe this is fixable.
The app itself is fine — lessons are practical, not gimmicky, and I actually used it every day on the train. I still think their trial wording could be much clearer; you shouldn’t have to guess whether you’re committing for a year. Support was polite but could be faster and more transparent. Price feels steep if you don’t catch the billing page details. In short: useful product, clumsy subscription setup, support that eventually helped. I’d use it again but I’d watch the checkout like a hawk, and I’d recommend others do the same — annoying, but not a total loss.Subscription issue
I had a problem with my subscription and I contacted customer support through chat. Ioana was super helpful and was able to fix my issue immediately. The customer service was excellent - they were knowledgeable and nice. It was seriously the best service I've had in a while. I would definitely suggest it to other people.
Monthly subscription purchase
I messed up by not doing enough research before signing up for the monthly subscription. I thought it was only for one month, but then I got an email saying it would automatically renew. Trying to cancel the subscription has been really hard because I can't find the option on the website or app. It's not cool that they make it so hard to cancel. It's disappointing to see a company use these kind of sneaky tactics just to make a buck off of people who didn't realize they'd be charged again.
Language learning program
I really liked the language learning program I bought! It was super user-friendly and had so many helpful tools to help me get better at the language. The different lessons and exercises were awesome, and I found them really useful.
Language learning app
I really suggest checking out this language learning app. It's got all kinds of different ways to learn and practice, and they're actually fun and helpful. The interface is super easy to use and looks really nice, so it’s a great way to pick up new languages without getting bored.
Fun Language App
I think it's really cool that there's this app that helps me learn all sorts of different languages, even Greek! I ran into a little hiccup with my membership, but the support team was incredibly nice and helpful. I definitely suggest this app to anyone looking to pick up a new language.
App with useful vocabulary and range of languages
I really think this app is super useful for learning new words that you won't find on other platforms. And there are so many languages to choose from, it's pretty awesome! It's opened up a whole new world of languages for me to check out that I never even thought about before.
Annual plan subscription
I signed up for Mondly's yearly plan about a year back, but I quickly realized that I wasn't happy with the app's features. So, I decided to turn off the automatic renewal. However, to my surprise, I got charged again after a year. It turns out the automatic renewal had been switched back on without asking me. I tried contacting customer service to get a refund, but all they offered was a discount on a lifetime plan. Since I wasn't planning on using the app anymore, the offer didn't really interest me. The whole situation made me feel disappointed and made me lose trust in the brand because of the lack of transparency and unwillingness to find a proper solution.
Awesome learning app!
I was taking classes online with someone, but I switched to this app and wow, I learned way more! The customer service was awesome and they really helped me out when I had questions. I feel like I'm learning a ton and having a blast!
Language learning program
I just bought this language learning program to help me learn Greek and Albanian on my trip to Greece, but guess what? All I got access to was Chinese and Spanish lessons. I've tried contacting their support team several times for help but all I get back are automated responses and ads. It's really frustrating and disappointing how little support and honesty this company has shown me.
Language learning app comparison
I recently switched to a new language learning app after finishing all the lessons on another popular one. The new app I picked has unlimited lessons, which is awesome for me since I'm really committed to learning a new language. But I have to admit, the user interface on the old app was easier to use compared to this one. With the new app, I have to click on each letter of a word in some lessons instead of just typing it out for the program to recognize. It makes the learning process slower and more tedious. Despite this downside though, I'm still glad I found this new app as a good option for my language learning journey.
Auxiliary Mandarin learning tool
I bought this supplemental tool for learning Mandarin hoping it would help me get better at the language, but I was really let down. The content was poorly done and it seemed like they didn't really put much effort in making it useful for non-Indo-European languages like Mandarin. The material was superficial and didn't really help me in my language learning journey. I asked for a refund right after signing up, but it's been over a week now and I still haven't gotten it. The customer service is unresponsive, unclear, and not helpful at all. Overall, my experience with this product was awful, and I wouldn't suggest it to anyone trying to learn Mandarin or any other non-Indo-European language.
Language learning program
The customer service for this language learning program was amazing. The program is really helpful for learning the two languages I'm into, but I think more repetition would be handy to really grasp new concepts. Overall, I definitely recommend this program. Also, can we get Swahili included in the language options soon?
Learning language app
I find this app super boring and really difficult to navigate. I prefer using a different app that's more user-friendly. Honestly, this one feels pretty useless. It doesn't teach you anything valuable.
Monthly subscription purchase
I messed up by not checking reviews before I bought the monthly access, assuming it was just for one month. But then when I got an email saying I was getting automatically renewed, I figured out my mistake. I tried to cancel the subscription, but it was impossible – there was no option on the website or the app. It's so annoying dealing with a company that makes it hard to cancel stuff, it feels like a scam.
Language learning app review
I've been using this language learning app for a while now, really diving into Japanese. What's kept me hooked are the daily lessons that make learning fun and keep me on track. The app's design is smooth and easy to use, making it simple to find my way around. The content is top-notch, helping me go from total newbie to more advanced in reading and speaking Japanese. I'm grateful for the quality content they provide!
Language learning program
I bought this language learning program thinking it would be great for beginners like me, but boy was I wrong! It was super challenging and there were no explanations for mistakes in the lessons. Plus, they didn't really cover grammar in a good way, so it was hard to understand the basics of the language. And man, it was expensive! Definitely not budget-friendly, especially for students. The pronunciation teaching wasn't that great either, it needed more detail. But hey, at least they had short daily lessons to practice the language.
