downloads weirdly vanished, a book I was only about 22% into disappeared out of my app, and some finished titles live in my app while others are hiding in an “archived” corner on the website. It’s annoying, and yes I checked my account, I refreshed, I logged out and in, the usual. Support is slow — takes days to get back and the go-to answer is basically “try refreshing.” Fine, I get cozy with flaws. Over time the deal flow kept me buying; I’ve bought hundreds of titles here, so I stuck around. Slowly, the irritation softened into reluctant acceptance — the prices are really good and the catalog is strong. I still wish they tracked by title + author instead of publisher, that’d make things less messy. So no, it’s not perfect, and support needs work, but the savings and selection won me over. Would I recommend cautiously? Yep — just don’t expect flawless app behavior.
The 23-minute crash cycle
good books, decent prices, solid variety, so I use it while chopping, commuting, or just trying to relax. Problem is the app crashes every 23 minutes like clockwork; I even started timing it. Super annoying to keep reopening, losing my spot, and muttering to myself. I’ve messaged support a few times through the site with no answer yet. Fix the crash (or reply) and I’m happy to come back.
