    Overall

Stranded by slow data, decent pickup staff

the pickup at Haneda was weirdly hidden — we stood near the train platforms squinting at signs and had to ask two different airport folks where to go. The person who handed us the device was pleasant enough, friendly even, so that part wasn’t awful. I started using it right away since we needed maps to get to our hotel; first impression was fine, speeds were normal, everything worked. Then later that day we hit the so‑called “unlimited” cap and the connection went from usable to basically useless. Google Maps crawled, pages wouldn’t load, and suddenly we were wandering with no way to check routes or contact anyone. That’s scary in a foreign place. There was no backup way to reach support because, well, we had no data. We found a cafe with free Wi‑Fi to message customer service on WhatsApp, and the reply wasn’t apologetic — just an offer to buy an extra data pack for about $15. Fine, except you can’t add it the same day; you have to wait until the next day. That was the low point. So yeah, I’m glad things didn’t end worse — we made it back eventually — but I wouldn’t trust this provider for critical navigation. Good pickup staff, bad limits and poor support when you actually need help. Heads up if you expect truly unlimited and immediate help.
