Marina stayed with us over multiple calls, walked through the network quirks step by step, and actually fixed the weird flakiness. That shifted my skepticism into "ok, this works." One tiny gripe: the online setup guide could be clearer. If you're going smart-home route, be ready for a little patience and call support early — they helped big time.
Quietly impressed, with a few notes
think ahead about motor placement if you plan to add solar panels — I learned the hard way that putting the motor on the moving side means you’ll want a USB-C extension to put the panel where it belongs. Also, if you pick Matter as your control network, read the fine print — you may need one or more hubs, and that setup wasn’t as plug-and-play as the rest. Price was the other pleasant surprise: considerably cheaper than other quotes I got, without feeling cheap — these look and feel pretty luxe. I recommended them to a friend and to be honest I keep mentioning them when someone asks about blinds. Mildly critical on a couple of points, but overall really satisfied — would use them again.
High-window rollers are flaky
I put eight Matter-based roller shades in my living room — all on 20‑ft high windows — and they've been flaky. They work, then drift off and require a full re-sync roughly every month or every other month, no exact rhythm. It's a hassle with ladders and timing when I'm trying to relax in the evening. On the plus side Smartwings support responds fast and helps each time, which was surprisingly useful. Zigbee ones I have are steadier.
The exact-stop moment
I remember the first morning after we hung the shades. We’d just finished installing them in our new house and I was half expecting fiddling and tweaks. Instead I hit the remote and it stopped exactly where we wanted. That’s when I knew we were happy. We ordered Roller and Cellular shades. Shipping was fast and the boxes were packed well. I did the install myself—straightforward and pretty quick. Alina was super helpful throughout, answering questions overnight and jumping on a missing blind right away when one didn’t show up. The blinds were made to our measurements and even preprogrammed to the heights we asked for, which surprised me in a good way. Overall, smooth process and great support. Would definitely buy them again without hesitation.

double-check your measurements and ask about included screws up front, just to avoid surprises. Worth it overall.
Designer test went surprisingly well
they look and operate like the high-end stuff—think Lutron—but at a fraction of the cost. That saved the client big, and made my life easier. Heads up though: if you aren't handy you'll want an installer. The boxes project out, and we forgot to allow for that where two shades meet in a corner—so oops, we had to reorder one a touch shorter. Replacement was handled smoothly and professionally, so no drama in the end. I use these in several rooms now for everyday light control and they feel solid. Delivery was pretty quick, arriving within the window. Remote works well, no glitches.
Good at blocking light, disappointing cord
a bot told me to email, then an early-morning reply that didn't help, and now no follow-up. Ordering was easy and they arrived quicker than I expected, the fabric feels fine for everyday use. I don't hate them, just disappointed in that one basic design miss. If CS steps up or they offer a fix, I'll change my rating.
