    No pickup, but we managed

I was skeptical when I booked — voucher said FESTOS at Heraklion. On arrival nobody met us. No shuttle. We waited 1.5 hours and I called customer service four times. In the end we took a taxi and rented from another company last minute. Still no refund after five days. Glad the backup rental saved our trip.

    Hidden insurance trap

I stood at the off‑site shuttle at MIA and thought this would be straightforward — turned into a mess. They insisted I meet impossible criteria to use my own insurance, so they pushed their own, wildly overpriced coverage and tacked on toll fees. Ends up they're listed under other names (Zizgo, NextCar). I’ve rented plenty elsewhere without this bait-and-switch. Not worth the hassle. Left annoyed and frustrated.

    Skip the middleman

I'd avoid this company. Glad we checked details at the counter — their "full coverage" was useless so we had to pay for insurance again. They refused a refund when we asked. I've used other brokers and this felt like the worst one so far, but at least the rental desk helped us get moving, so, you know, not a total disaster.

    Almost lost my move

So there I was, stuck with boxes and a bad lower back — needed a car for a move. I was skeptical after they took a deposit and then canceled the booking, and yeah I spammed them with emails, nobody answered at first. Then an agent called, refunded the deposit and set up a different car that was easier to load. That call and refund — that's when I relaxed, still annoyed but finally relieved.

Nearly Scammed, Found a Comfy Ride

My morning coffee went cold while I wondered if I’d been scammed. The price on the site and the final charge didn’t match, and I almost walked away. No one seemed to know the rental company. Voucher had zero pickup details. I spent an afternoon chasing a phone number. Three hours before pickup I finally got answers. Turns out the car itself was fine. It was comfy, handles well, and made grocery runs and a weekend escape easy. Annoying process, but the little car redeemed the whole thing, sort of. Not perfect, but really usable.

    They kept my payment

the rental desk scanner didn't accept my driver's license because a tiny chip on a corner showed wear, so the rental place refused the hire. I asked EconomyBookings for a refund minus fees and they said no, kept everything. Felt like getting hung out to dry. Tip: call the rental directly and double-check their ID scanner rules, and take photos; it might save you a headache and money.

    Extra layer, extra trouble

I didn't expect the extra middleman to make things so messy when I damaged the car. At first the booking was fine — price matched what I would've paid going direct — so that felt okay, and honestly I'm glad the final bill wasn't catastrophic. But the claims process has been a headache: I had to cover the repair costs up front, then submit a full coverage request that supposedly takes "up to 35 days" — which is optimistic. My case has been open since April 8 and still pending; emails and calls just trigger automated replies or polite form responses, no one really follows up. It feels like everything's great when nothing goes wrong, but if you need help, you get stuck. Small bright spot: the rental company itself communicated clearly about the damage and costs, so I wasn't completely in the dark. Still, I wish the platform handled claims faster or at least gave a human reply. If I could give one tip: buy full coverage directly or be ready for a long wait.

    Cheap deal, messy fine print

cheap car, good-looking deal. I almost swiped past. The fine print looked like it had been written by lawyers with a grudge. Still, price was tempting, so I booked—half curious, half nervous. The doubts? Mainly cancellation and customer support. Those doubts stuck around after checkout. Their cancellation policy reads like a maze. I emailed and got canned replies that didn't answer anything. Felt like sending messages into a void. Funny thing: after a few annoying back-and-forths and one actually-human call, one person finally dug into my case and we worked out a partial refund. Not perfect. Took too long. But in the end I didn't lose everything and the car showed up on time. Bottom line: decent price, sketchy pages, hit them with a phone call if you care.

Booked but no car on pickup

confused and unhelpful people, no consistent information. My doubts before buying turned out to be valid. I left without a car and more annoyed; customer support didn't help. Heads-up: call the rental office in advance, don’t assume the website covers everything.

    Smooth Website, Rough Reality

I paid and never got the service, and customer support sounded like a script — polite but flat, more trained to say no than to help. I eventually cobbled together a different solution and got out of the mess, but it cost time and stress. I’d recommend avoiding them for anything time-sensitive.

That moment my bank pinged me — relief at last

Standing at the rental counter, keys nowhere in sight, I remember thinking this was going to be a disaster — and for a while it was. I had to scramble and book another car on the spot so I could get to an important meeting and then a weekend trip I’d planned. I used the replacement every day after that — commuting, a quick grocery run, even a last-minute road trip — so it cost me more time and money than I expected. I nagged customer service for weeks, slow replies at first, then radio silence. I almost gave up, honestly. The turning point — the moment I knew I could finally breathe — was when my bank app buzzed and the refund showed up. Not the full drama-free refund I hoped for, but enough to cover the extra rental and gas. That tiny notification felt huge; I actually smiled in public. What surprised me was how helpful my credit card company ended up being — they pushed things along when the vendor stalled, which I didn’t expect. So yeah, the process sucked, and I’d warn friends to have a backup plan, but in the end I got my money back and the extra car honestly turned into a decent temporary fix. Little imperfections remain — slow replies, the stress — but that refund ping changed everything. If you use this kind of booking service, keep records, be persistent, and don’t assume silence means no result.

    Rollercoaster start, smooth drive after

we spent hours arguing, the agent wouldn’t even talk to the booking rep, and we bailed — not ideal. But: once we left and switched to a well-known local company (Enterprise), everything clicked. The car we ended up with felt solid — comfy seats, good suspension, AC that actually cools, and it handled nicely on the highway. The trunk fit our bags easily and fuel economy was decent for a midsize. It wasn’t showroom perfect — a small scuff here and there, and the cup holder was sticky — but honestly for a week of driving it was great. I’m glad we didn’t pay the crazy extra fees; the Enterprise rep got us on the road in under 20 minutes. My main gripe is the wasted prepayment and the lost hours — I still wish that had been handled better and I’d like my $300 back. If you’re booking ahead: print everything, screenshot confirmations, and maybe call the local desk the morning of pickup. Overall, not a perfect experience because of the hassle, but the car itself and the second company saved our trip. Would recommend being cautious but know that, if you switch to a reputable rental, the actual driving part can be very pleasant.

Oddly handled drop-off and the refund mess

staff at the counter were polite at pickup. Still, the follow-up and refund handling left me disappointed. I told that coworker not to use them until they fix their communication and actually honor refunds.

    Good prices, easy interface

I came across EconomyBookings when I was looking for rental cars online. I was drawn in by their affordable prices and user-friendly website. But I'll be honest, I was a little hesitant because of some not-so-great reviews I saw. Despite my doubts, I took a leap of faith and reserved a car for my upcoming journey.
