Access still not fixed after confirmed breach

the account access wasn’t restored. That mattered because my Steam was tied to that Ubisoft account, and during the mess unauthorized activity led to a ban. Steam reviewed and lifted the ban after they confirmed it was a compromise, which actually supports my side — this wasn’t me being naughty, it was a breach. So my ask is simple: switch the email to the new one I already provided, send a proper password recovery link, and return full access to my original account and content. I’m not looking for a new account or transfers — just give me back what I verified before. A tip for others: keep proof of ownership ready and push for escalation if you see repeated closings. It’s not perfect, but it can be fixed if support actually follows through.

    Quiet regret

that password hadn't been used in ages. I asked for a reset link. I whitelisted their addresses, checked spam and every folder. Nothing. I tried a work email. No confirmation. I tried a fresh Gmail. Account creation succeeded, I wrote the password down this time, then tried to log in — error. Either wrong password or account suspended. It was the same opaque message every time. No clear reason. No helpful guidance. No email explaining what went wrong. Meanwhile the game sits unplayable on my machine. Money spent. Time wasted. Frustrating, plain and simple.

    The long goodbye

log on, clown around, trade stupid items, laugh. For a long time it was perfect for that. Then the new owners took over and things started to fall apart. The main thing that really bugged me — and it’s the reason I still tell people to be careful — was the moderation and the automated systems. It felt like someone handed a sleeping admin a giant ban hammer and walked away. People got permabanned for stuff that clearly wasn’t cheating, farmers who were just grinding got flagged as bots, and a bunch of regulars disappeared overnight. That’s the image that sticks: one minute you’re joking with someone, next minute their account’s gone and the support response is a template. Also, bots. So many bots. They clogged up chat, spammed fake events, and pushed sketchy links that ruined the vibe. The game had rollbacks too, like, seven times since the takeover? That made things messy — you’d lose progress, markets crashed, and people got frustrated enough to quit. Still, I’m oddly grateful. Grateful because for nearly a decade my friend and I had this tiny corner of dumb joy, and those memories aren’t erased by bad moderation or bad business choices. I’m glad we had it when it was good. If you’re thinking of jumping in now, go in with low expectations: enjoy the nostalgia, watch out for bots, and don’t get attached to in-game items like they’re a retirement plan. It’s not dead, but it’s brittle, and the moderation/system problems are the part that’ll probably make you throw your hands up before anything else.
