On August 27 I ordered a computer (laptop) from TigerDirect. I received it on September 7, though it was in stock. I could not get a tracking number nor any information on my order. The website tracker kept blaming me for not putting in the correct order number or my correct zip code, which is a joke, as I got the order number from TigerDirect and I know my zip code. When I got someone on the live chat, he informed me of the correct order number and my zip code, which were what I had input and it still did not work. I finally got him to give me a tracking number. When the laptop arrived, the display was terrible; all blurry and the contrast was awful, except when I changed it to the very furthest setting. Even then, it was barely readable. I called the customer service number and was hung up on twice as I explained what was going on. I sent an email and never got a response. I tried a live chat and was in the middle of talking to a rep when I was disconnected and the live chat kept me from any future chats, even from another browser. I promise I was very respectful, and I never raised my voice, even when I was told that I input the information wrong. I wanted this laptop and I needed it, but I ended up asking for an RMA number, whereas I was disconnected twice from the customer service on the phone. I could not get through on the phone after that. I emailed the customer service and they told me that I did not need an RMA. I would NEVER buy ANYTHING from TigerDirect EVER again. I must pay a 15% “restocking” fee for the pleasure of trying to use this laptop for less than one day. I am disgusted.
Don't Buy From TigerDirect! I placed a simple, valid credit card order with those people Despite the "Free Shipping" blurb, I was only informed of the $5+ shipping charge when I was completing the order. To make things worse, I got an email from them a few hours later demanding that I call them. Which I had to do the next day. It almost a half hour to get through to their service center...and that's when they told me they needed a VERBAL confirmation of my $12.94 online purchase! I couldn't believe it! Neither Amazon nor Walmart would dare to waste their customers' time like that!
I purchased from the Hewlett Packard website. Somehow TigerDirect became the 3rd party seller. Iam 40 yrs old and this has been my worst buying experience. I do not recommend buying from H.P. and definitely recommend avoiding TigerDirect.
I purchased a refurbished PC with 16GB RAM, i-5 CPU and an SSD as the main drive. In just a few days after receiving the unit, the SSD failed. It was a Kingfast made in China, a brand I'd never heard of. AST, a 3rd party source sent me a replacement which also failed in less than a month. And now because that one got lost in the mail to them, they won't sent me a replacement. Two other staff are in the loop about my frustrating situation, but have done nothing except issue weak reassurances. I even offered to pay for the new SSD, to get my desktop working again. I WILL NEVER BUY ANYTHING FROM TIGERDIRECT AGAIN!!! NEVER!
TigerDirect cancelled the order and said they would credit my account. They shipped the mouse and a document for the service plan. Both received. I emailed them asking for instructions for returning the mouse. Never received a reply. When my credit card arrived, I found they had not billed for the Laptop and had given me credit for the service plan, but not for the mouse. I tried to look at my account on TigerDirect but was told my password was not correct. I reset the pw. Tried to log in again and was told the pw was incorrect. This is highly unlikely as I cut and pasted the new pw to avoid any typos. Today I spent an hour and a half on a chat with TD. They tell you the wait is ~8 minutes then 10 minutes later they say you are number 2 in line. 15 minutes later they say you are number 1, then another 15 minutes later they open the chat. They keep you waiting 30 minutes while they check the order number. Finally they say "We are working on the approval. Will email you for update. " I will never place another order with this company.
