So there I was, crouched on the porch with the camera in my hands, right after I'd recharged the battery — and it wouldn't do a thing. I first spotted this model at my neighbor's place last month and they nudged me to give it a shot, so I ordered one. Support was actually fast and not robotic; they sent simple steps and I realized, embarrassingly, that I had flipped the wrong setting — classic me. Followed their advice, fiddled for a minute, and then the little live blink on the app showed up. That's the exact moment I knew I was satisfied. Solid gear, decent price too.
Slow spin, then sorted
a firmware push and a few setting tweaks later it got a lot more reliable. Still not perfect, but way better than at the start. Delivery was fast, ordering was a little clunky, and the price is okay for what I need. Overall skeptical at first, but customer service turned it around.
When the picture finally cleared
if you buy something, make sure there’s support later. Annoying, yes, but satisfying to know it wasn’t me. Learned my lesson and moved on.
Sharp live feed, useless recordings
I can't figure out how to pull recorded clips, and when I emailed support they said it's a known bug they're working on. So right now I have four cameras that save nothing I can access locally, which is the whole point for me. Motion detection is inconsistent too — it will grab a car cruising by the road but half the time it doesn't notice my truck pulling into the driveway. The app feels clunky and not intuitive, like I'm testing beta features. One surprise was how clear the live view is on my phone, though; that part I liked. Pretty disappointed overall for the price. I use these daily to monitor deliveries and check kids getting home, but until the SD playback and app are fixed I can't recommend them and I won't buy more.
Quietly impressed
it actually follows motion inside the zone you set, then gently snaps back to its patrol point when nothing’s happening. Video looks sharp, which matters when I’m checking who dropped off a box, though the mic is kind of meh — voices are muffled sometimes. It records constantly if you want, which I do for peace of mind. I’ve tried a handful of other brands over the years and, for what I use it for daily, this one surprised me in a good way. Glad I went for it.
Not great at first, but I stuck with it
I almost returned it, mostly because I needed something that worked without me climbing ladders — I’ve got a bad back after a move, so the last thing I wanted was daily roof trips. Setup was fine at first, cameras looked okay, felt hopeful. Then the solar panels started losing charge on the sunniest days (weird), battery dropped fast, and the supplied 64GB card didn’t want to behave even after reformatting. Tried a different card, same result. Wi‑Fi drops happened even with a camera right next to my extender. Customer support was slow and a bit wishy‑washy — asked me to charge via USB (no thanks, I can’t be up the ladder every day) and the “engineer” basically guessed at the problem. I asked for a return and the process was annoying — told to say I “didn’t like” the product and even pay a return label fee. Annoying. That said, after moving the base unit and tweaking a couple settings (and a firmware push maybe), the system settled down and has been mostly reliable for a few weeks now. Still wary, service was poor, but the cams themselves can work if you’re willing to fiddle.
