I wouldn’t order from Backcountry again if I needed a package delivered to a city address. The problem wasn’t the item; it was what happened after it was handed to DoorDash for the final delivery. I stayed home from work specifically because I was expecting it, and somehow the driver left the box in a wide-open common area without knocking, ringing, or trying to contact me. By the time I saw the delivery notification, it was gone. That part was frustrating enough, but customer service was the bigger disappointment. They didn’t seem interested in checking what went wrong, arranging a replacement, or offering any real solution. The response felt like once the package is marked delivered, that’s it, even if it was left somewhere obviously unsafe. Maybe this works fine in areas where packages can sit outside all day, but that’s not realistic in many neighborhoods. For me, the surprising part was how little accountability there was after the theft. I’d choose a retailer with safer shipping options next time.

I won’t be shopping with Backcountry again, which honestly stings because I used to recommend them without thinking twice. I needed a winter layer after dealing with back pain and wanting something roomy enough to wear over a brace. The item itself arrived quickly and looked fine, but it was simply too big. No big deal, I thought—I’d returned things before.
