a brief moment of real satisfaction at first, followed by a long, frustrating downhill slide. Moral: follow their instructions exactly if you trust the timeline, but don’t count on that little friendly reply turning into a fair outcome.
Dead on arrival, slow goodbye
firmware update (latest), factory reset, different phones (iPhone and Android), swapping cables, even had the car’s multimedia checked to rule that out — everything pointed to the box itself being flaky. Support at the store replied with the standard checklist (update, reset, etc.) and then said it was past their return window after I explained I needed time to troubleshoot — which is absurd when the unit fails within a day. After weeks of back-and-forth I was offered a partial refund of about $40 on a $200+ purchase, shipping not included. I eventually stopped wasting time, threw the unit away (yeah, I admit it), and chalked the loss up to a bad buy. Practically speaking, the product didn’t feel reliable at all: slow to respond, intermittent signals, and the kind of freezes that make you nervous to rely on it for navigation. If you need something sturdy and you can’t be flipping switches mid-drive, this wasn’t it for me. Public marketplaces with clear return policies are where I’ll buy next time.
