Recently purchased cycling gear
I recently bought some cycling gear from Competitive Cyclist and ran into some issues with the ordering process. At first, my order got delayed because of a credit card problem that should have been caught when I first placed the order. They emailed me to say my card got declined, and instead of contacting me directly, they ended up giving one of my items to someone else. After I called to fix things, they said the payment went through fine, but I never got a confirmation email. This caused even more problems because the item that got mistakenly given away was now out of stock. Even though they promised me next-day shipping by Tuesday, it's now Friday afternoon and I still haven't gotten a shipping confirmation.
damaged product, lack of service
The bike I bought came in super beat up. I tried getting help, but got ignored. And to top it off, they lost the package for three whole weeks. Definitely not buying from them again.
Promo code woes
I heard you could use promo codes, but when I gave it a shot, it didn't work at all! So then I had to reach out to their support team and they didn't really give me any help. I ended up wasting a ton of time on that website.
Feedback Torque Wrench
Hey everyone, let me share how I feel about Competitive Cyclist. I've been a loyal customer for a while now, and honestly, I'm pretty bummed out. I recently took part in this Strava challenge they had going on where you could score a 20% discount on a "qualified" full-price product if you clocked in 13 hours of riding before 10/31/21. So, I wanted to snag a Feedback Torque Wrench. But guess what? The promo code wouldn't work, even though the website said it did (spoiler alert: it didn't). And on top of that, the wrench wasn't even considered one of the qualifying items. Talk about tricky fine print! Now, if I want to use that discount, I gotta jump through hoops and give them a call to get it sorted out. It's super annoying and kind of a letdown, to be honest.
Ibis Hakka frame
I bought an Ibis Hakka frame from Competitive Cyclist not too long ago. Unfortunately, I was pretty let down by one of the frames when I checked it out. There were a bunch of dimples and bumps on it, with some as big as 2.5 inches. I contacted customer service, but they didn't want to own up to sending out a messed-up frame that shouldn't have made it past quality control. And to top it off, they wanted me to foot the bill for return shipping, on top of what I already paid for shipping. Dealing with all of this has left me feeling annoyed and unimpressed with their service.
