I had to unassemble everything carefully, pay the helper again, and pay Parcelforce about £17.20 to send the 26 kg box back. The listing wasn’t clear about assembly being a two-person job, that info was hidden somewhere if it was there at all. If you’re thinking of using this as a visible divider or main bookshelf for daily use, I’d be cautious — it’s fine for light, temporary storage but not for a polished look or heavy use. Overall I’m relieved to have my money back but annoyed at the hassle. Could’ve bought something sturdier elsewhere for less and with fewer headaches. So, heads up: the idea is fine and the size worked for my apartment, but the build, delivery, and finishing details are where it fell short.
Too good to be true
it arrives, I start putting parts together and it turns out it absolutely can’t swap orientation. I called post-sales and, after a bit of back-and-forth, they admitted the first person was wrong. That alone is annoying, but what really stung was the solution: a tiny refund offer (5%, then 7.5% when I pushed back) and no real return option because it was partly assembled. Now I have a desk that won’t fit where I need it, and the thought of selling it second-hand feels like extra hassle I don’t want. On the plus side, the build and finish are actually decent — it would’ve been perfect if the info had been correct. So yeah, like the product itself, but the bad info and weak aftercare made this a frustrating experience.
