    I'm glad I grabbed this. I wanted something after a couple of sketchy late-night walks — didn't want a bulky alarm or weird gadget, so this made sense. The reassurance call calms me down when I'm walking home and oddly enough I sometimes end up chatting a bit with the person on the line. I clip the gold keychain to my belt loop or bag and it just looks like a charm; people even ask about it. Practical, low-key, and it does the job.

But after a few weeks it started refusing to connect half the time; I'd open the app, assume it's paired, and nope. The real kicker came at month two when the battery just died on me while I was out — I bumped the pendant and it went dark. Luckily nothing happened and I got home safe, so I can be grateful for that, but paying for two months of usefulness stung. It's got potential if they iron out the bugs and improve battery life. For now I'm disappointed and more cautious — don't buy it expecting flawless protection yet. Also, setup felt like babysitting an app. Ugh.

    Close and comfy, but not the long leash I hoped for

    would it actually stay connected without him having to carry his phone around? He lives alone and isn’t into gadgets, so I wanted something that just stays on and does its job. Long story short, I bought it because I was picturing him safe in the bathroom or in the yard, phone on the counter somewhere else. Big if.
    Setting it up felt easy enough (that part was a relief). The band itself is slim, light, and he barely noticed it on. The waterproof feature is legit — he wore it in the shower a couple of times and I didn’t have to nag him about taking it off. The non-rechargeable battery actually turned out to be a win: he doesn’t have to remember to plug stuff in, and that reduces the chance he’d leave it off at the wrong time. So, those initial worries? They faded pretty quickly.
    Where my optimism hit a snag was range. In our house it only reaches about 8–10 feet from the phone, not the 30 ft I’d read. I tried it on a brand-new iPhone, then an Android, same result. Other Bluetooth devices in the house go through walls fine, so it seems like this one is limited. That was annoying — because the whole point was freedom when he moved away from his phone.
    I reached out to customer service explaining I tested multiple phones and wanted a fix or at least clarity. I got a canned reply blaming phone Bluetooth, which didn’t fit what I described, and after a few follow-ups I didn’t get any further help. That part was disappointing, and I wish they’d taken it more seriously.
    All that said, I’m still glad we bought it. It does work exactly as long as the phone is nearby, and for us that’s been okay most days. If your expectation is to have full-house coverage without the phone, this isn’t it. But if you want a comfortable, waterproof, low-maintenance wrist alert that keeps someone safe when the phone is close, it’s been a pretty good solution. I’m thankful it’s comfortable and simple — just wish the company would be more responsive about the range issue.

    On the product side, the pendant itself is fine — decent finish, looks like the pictures — so I’m not knocking the item quality. My problem is the support model. If your only customer contact is email, it has to be reliable, timely, and transparent. Limited staffing is understandable, but the consequence shouldn’t be radio silence until someone posts publicly. That’s poor customer relations and it erodes trust.
    My advice to others: do a bit more digging before you buy. Check for alternate contact methods, maybe ask for confirmation pics before shipping if it’s a gift, and consider paying by a card that lets you dispute charges easily. I wanted to like this company. The product almost got me there, but the support experience left me wary. I’ll be more cautious next time and I hope they fix the gaps in their customer care.

    Uncomfortable necklace, only works if app is running

    I recently got my hands on an InvisaWear emergency safety device, and I gotta say, I'm pretty happy with it. Around the holidays, I get a little nervous walking through parking lots carrying gifts, but knowing I can easily call for help with my InvisaWear if I need to is really reassuring. And being able to chat with someone while I walk to my car or door just adds an extra layer of security.

    But, I do have a couple of gripes. First, the chains for the neck charms aren't as sturdy as I thought they'd be. I had to swap them out for stronger chains because they kept breaking. Second, I think having magnetic clasps would be helpful for older folks who might struggle to take the device on and off when bathing. Even if they're offered separately as an accessory, it would be a nice option to have.

    Overall, though, despite these little issues, I really do love my InvisaWear for the peace of mind it gives me.
