I hesitated — another trinket? — but it’s sturdy, sits on our mantel every day, still nice.
Morning chaos turned cute
I was halfway through calming my mom down on her birthday morning — she was convinced the delivery calls were a scam — when she peeled back the paper and held this little porcelain figure. It’s smooth, surprisingly lightweight, and she kept turning it over like it had a personality. We had a brief customs scare and a bunch of calls, but the seller stepped in and handled the mess. Really glad it worked out; now it sits on her mantel making her smile.
Birthday surprise that turned awkward
responsiveness was lacking and the pricing policy left a bad taste. A small win and a small frustration. And calling it Goddess Lakshmi and treating her like cheap merchandise felt, I don’t know, oddly disrespectful.
