I first heard about Monos from a friend who swore by their suitcases, and after seeing a travel blog I bought the carry-on in 2023. Just back from a weekend trip and one wheel started sticking — wouldn’t roll properly. I was a little stressed since I travel a lot, but I reached out to customer service and Ann handled it. The replacement wheel wasn’t in stock, so instead of making me wait they arranged a full replacement bag and sent it expedited at no charge because I had a trip the next week. Delivery arrived in time and was nicely packed. The whole exchange was quick, clear and low drama — polite, fast and helpful replies, things fixed. Told a couple people already; relieved and impressed.
Almost gave up, but it worked out
Halfway through wrapping presents I noticed one duffle was still missing — and that’s when the whole thing felt like a bad rerun. I’d paid for a white duffle back in December, was told it was on backorder, and then…radio silence. I called, emailed, waited, and the only option they offered at one point was “pick another color.” Which made no sense since I’d already bought a matching white crossbody. Anyway, I’ve had quicker, clearer service from other brands, so I was pretty annoyed and skeptical. After nagging them for weeks someone finally dug into the order, found the bag and shipped it — long story short, it arrived and it does match the crossbody, so I’m relieved. Communication needs a lot of work, and that delay was a real pain, but the product itself was fine in the end. Won’t be as trusting next time, though.
Squeaky start, slow finish
The first time I rolled the bag it squeaked, and that pretty much summed up my experience. I hesitated before buying — price felt high for what I saw online and I’ve owned proper hard-shells before (Rimowa-ish). Still I ordered. Then the wheel failed fast. Customer service stalled. One rep, Dexter, answered every message and refused to escalate. They promised a replacement in December; it's mid-February and nothing. So my doubts never really went away. A shame — looks OK, but build and support are disappointing.
Opened the envelope and blinked
double-check seller policies and ask for photos before buying. I’d warn others — service was the real disappointment here.
Practical carry, no nonsense
I didn’t need another suitcase, but after a bad experience with a cheap spinner that fell apart mid-move, I decided to try something sturdier. This one feels solid—heavier than the cheap stuff but not clunky—and the wheels roll predictably, which matters when you're juggling a laptop bag and a toddler. The interior layout is sensible, pockets where you want them, and the zipper doesn't catch. I like that the handle doesn't wiggle; small things, but they add up on long trips. I had to swap a color after ordering and customer support walked me through it without drama. Website is straightforward, order history easy to find. Not flashy, just well built. Would buy again, probably for the spouse next time, for shorter trips.
Oddly slick but disappointing return policy
the wheels actually glide better than I expected, and the handle doesn’t wobble, so the product itself feels fine in use. But the company rules are what sting: the wording about 100-day returns and lifetime warranty reads one way in their ads and another in the fine print. Dry, factual takeaway — good-feeling hardware, poor after-sale logic. I won’t be ordering from them again until their return policy makes real sense.
