She had to buy a proper box herself to send them back — so already, extra cost and time. The parcel did make it back to the seller, but then the seller flagged customs charges and refused to accept the return, so they sent it back here. And not quickly; they sat on it in France for almost a month before returning it. Month. Which makes any attempt to claim timely returns kind of pointless, because by then the whole refund process is a mess.
    Customer service replies felt canned, like someone pasted a template and changed the name. Eventually they told her, “okay, resend it,” and requested extra paperwork this time—papers they never mentioned before—while never offering to cover the return fees or the extra shipping. So she’s expected to pay again to fix a problem that wasn’t hers. I mean, it’s baffling how little ownership they took. The one slightly positive thing: they did apologize at one point, but it felt empty and too late, so it doesn’t really help.
    If you’re thinking of ordering from them: double-check the return policy for international orders (specifically who pays customs), take photos of packaging when it arrives, and maybe insist on a proper shoe box if that matters to you. My advice: if you have a local alternative, use it. This experience left us annoyed and a bit amused — in a sad way — that an online purchase turned into a small saga. I wish the company would be clearer and actually pay for returns when it’s on them; simple, right? Anyway, learn from our hassle so you don’t repeat it.

    Not what I expected

    I almost bailed on this order. The site clearly said it would arrive before Christmas and shipping was free, but after a few late deliveries from other shops I was hesitant. I needed this item as a gift for my mom — nothing huge, just something specific she wanted — so I ordered on Dec 16 hoping the promise was real. By Dec 23 the tracking still showed no movement and I called. The person who answered was brusque and basically told me I shouldn't have expectations when delivery is free, then put me on hold and hung up. That whole exchange felt dismissive and added stress to an already tight schedule. Later I got a reply from Marie that covered part of the issue — a pretty standard response — but it didn't change the fact the parcel never left the France warehouse for Romania, so there was no way it could arrive in time. So I spent the afternoon in crowded stores hunting for a replacement present, which was frustrating and awkward. I liked the product choice and the checkout was easy, so my doubts before buying were partly about timing and customer support; unfortunately those doubts turned out to be valid. What would have helped was a clear update and a genuine apology, or at least an offer to expedite once the delay was known. Instead I felt brushed off. If they ship the order now and make a fair gesture I’ll reconsider, but right now the promise on the site didn’t hold and the customer contact made the situation worse. Small things like a proper explanation or taking responsibility matter. Not thrilled, but willing to update this if they sort it out.

    I just got this cap from an online store and I gotta say, I was pleasantly surprised! The price was killer and they even threw in free shipping. Ordering was a breeze, and my package was on its way the same day I clicked buy. When the cap showed up, it was all nicely packed in a little box, and the hat itself was looking fresh. You could tell it was the real deal, not some cheap knockoff. Shipping was quick too, only took about 2.5 days all the way from France to California. I'm super happy with my new cap and the whole experience.

    Birkenstock sandals - International return process

    I recently bought a pair of Birkenstock sandals from this company, but had to return them because they were the wrong width. The whole return process was a mess - turns out I had to send the sandals all the way back to France on my own dime, which was definitely not mentioned on their website. It felt like a shady move on their part, and I was pretty bummed out about the lack of transparency when it comes to their return policy. On top of that, Spartoo has different sites for different countries, making it a pain to find relevant reviews and info. It would be great if they could just straight up tell us where they're based and make their return policy more obvious on the website.

    Be aware before ordering anything, this company does not offer free returns or exchange.
    I bought 3 pairs of baby sandals, paid over $100, the cost of shipping from USA to France is over $200. I called customer service for exchange and was offered to sell it on my own and rebuy it, what a great way to conduct the business!

    Mens Lumberjack Sandals made by Birkenstock in Spain

    I bought this pair of sandals fo rmy husband's birtday and they were way too small. I ordered his regular size that he had on his old Milano sandals. whihc is a 45 but thes new ones had his toes hanging out over the shoe.The site states -

    ADVICE
    Size guide: Take your usual size
    Now we are stuck wiht the shoes unless we want to pay a husge shipping fee whihch cost almost as much as the sandals we purchased. I guess the shoes made in Spain run small and this information shoould be provided on the website. I have ordered quite a few pars of Birkenstocks that were made in Germany and their sizing has been consistent. I do not believe I should have to be penalized for the paying of returning an item which was not properly described on the website.

Then I realized Spartoo doesn’t cover return fee nor provides reasonable return shipping fee through the site. Big disapointment that cost me $57!!! TO ALL OUTTHERE: Prior to purchase consider return shipping cost just in case, please.
