Customer service and selection is very good. They need to get rid of smart post shipping as there are better options
Motors
I purchased five motors but received four. One of the motors was advertised as 12 volt, but was 24 volt. I contacted them and they made it right. They sent me the missing motor and refunded my money for the 24 volt motor. The trains that I have purchased from Trainz both came in damaged due to very poor packing. Again, they made it right by refunding part of my money for the engines. Their customer service is good, but the shipping department needs to have the folks trained to get orders correct and packed correctly. Part for a Z-Scale locomotive
I ordered a locomotive from them that wasn't even close to the condition they claimed. After my 5th attempt to contact them, threatening small claims court they finally responded and eventually made it right. I decided to give them another chance hoping my first experience was a fluke or oversite. It wasn't. I ordered a replacement truck for one of my engines. The description said it was for HO, so I emailed them to make sure it was in fact for Z-scale. They never answered me back. I was fairly certain it was for Z-scale so ordered it anyways. The descrition also said it was functional. Their picture of it was taken with it in a plastic bag which made it hard to see it clearly. It was for Z-scale but missing one of the metal contacts for the wheels, which made it useless and clearly not functional. After these experiences I now believe they purposely use deceptive practices to make a sale. Don't believe their descriptions, they will always say they are C7 or above and nothing is wrong. What you really get will be the luck of the draw. I will never buy from them again and advise others not too either

Site lists used items as FUNCTIONAL when they should be lsited as UNTESTED.
Track gauge
1) The product I ordered weighs only a few ounces, but took them several days to ship
2) They delivered the wrong part
3) The don't have a phone # you can call to directly speak with a representative
4) I had to contact them three times, ultimately threatening to reverse the charges, before a customer service representative emailed me with RMA instructions

I have a awesome wish list on this site. They constantly have new products. Discriptions and pictures are very accurate. They answer your question in a timely manner. Shippung is quick and i havent had any problem with merchandise coming in broken... I will continue to use them...

Deceptive Advertising and no Customer Service
I bought a used Z-scale Locomotive they said was in C7 condition. When it showed up it didn't work. I took off the cover and found the ends of the circuit board broken with a glob of solder to make it work. They also soldered the capacitor but it was a cold solder joint. It did run ok after I fixed the cold solder joint. But the condition is C4 at best and the lights will never work on it. They advertise 2 business days to answer back for customer service, but it has been over 8 business days, I have contacted both through website form and directly with email but have not heard from them. I called and got recording, waiting to see if they will call back. I want to return or exchange for an actual C7 locomotive, which it seems they have more than one. I should have paid more attention to the reviews, even though they overall are ok, for the last 10 months there have been more reviews similar to mine. I would not buy from them because you don't know what you will get. I paid a little more because I thought an e-store would be a little more honest about what they are selling, obviously not.Lionel O gauge parts

I bought a train set at a Great Christmas price , Shipping was fast with Fed EX .

Had a issue with the locomotive - but Trainz customer service was awesome ! They went above and beyond to resolve the issue . They returned my call and answered all my concerns . I have total peace of mind when ordering from Trainz . Trainz is my go to place for train stuff.
Multiple buildings and rolling stock
I have enjoyed being a customer of Trainz, their website is well done, easy to use. They ship promptly and package to prevent damage. Their pricing is good on some items but overpriced on others. I frequently can get the same item cheaper from other sources.
Toy Train Components
I've purchased two items from Trainz: one from Ebay and one from a toy train show. Both items were misrepresented in terms of condition. They buy collections but are not checking the items in terms of condition. In both cases I was able to get a refund or a cash credit, but I'm done with Trainz. They're prices are high, if their items were top-notch I wouldn't complain, but that's not the case
american flyer accessory
Trainz advertised a new in box accessory for american flyer. What arrived looked nothing like the pictures they advertised on Ebay. Rather than new, the item was very used and totally inoperable. This is not an honest transaction and I would advise great caution in dealing with this company. Other reviews on this site also are a cautionary note as to the trustworthiness of this company.
I have dealt with the folks at Trainz for over a year. I have had 5 different orders. On 2 of these Orders I had some problems. I notified Customer Service about the problems and Frankie from Customer Service replied and worked with me to fix the problems to my satisfaction. The time spent making those problems right was above the norms for On Line business. I will continue dealing with Trainz because of the service that I have received from them.
K-Line K515002A Coca-Cola O27 Boxcar Set
I collect Coca Cola train cars and this set offered several box cars at a reasonable price. Shipping is always prompt and the items arrive as described.
10005 (snake train)
When I was a kid a friend had a 10005, it was a clock work, we played with that thing till the wheels were ready to come off. I always wanted one, and now in my 81st year I have one and around and around it goes. The priceing, shipping, everything was just perfirect. Thanks again from a 81 year old kid
Atlas N Scale Western Pacific Caboose
My order was shipped very quickly and arrived well packed and in like new condition as advertised. Price was very competitive. I have ordered multiple times from Trainz.com and will continue to do so!

53' container ho scale
My first ever order from Train was I purchased an item thier website and it said it was "in stock". However after my order was not processed after five days I contacted costumer service and they said one of the items I ordered was not in stock and had to be ordered though the manufacturer however this delayed my entire order due to one small item they didn't have. A few days after the order was then shipped after over a week.
Thinking that maybe since that one item was a rare occurrence I would try another order only this time several items and a much larger cost. All five items were listed as "in Stock". Well wouldn't you know all five items I ordered are NOT in stock and my order has again NOT been processed and I'm being told they do not have these items in Stock and would need to be order from different manufacturers. This is the second time in a row I was deceived by "in Stock" status by their website. Trainz seems to have made a habit of selling you product they do not have taking your money then leaving you to wait with no updates on when or if the item will ship. And since this the items I bought are all from different manufacturers who know how long I'll be waiting. If I were able to give 0 stars I would for falsely leading you to believe your chosen item is "in Stock" simply to get a sale only to find out they didn't actually have it but certainly take your money.
