I have bought several items through Trainz and have never had an issue with ordering, payment or shipping. They ship fast and the items are always packed well. I will keep doing business with these guys as long as they are around.

Texas Special car
Every time I buy from Trainz is a good experience. If I want to cancel there are no questions asked and when the product arrives it is packaged very well. The products themselves are what is advertised. I don't have any concerns when I make a purchase from Trainz
Post war Lionel stuff
Great place for trains. Comforting to know the stuff gets inspected and checked over before shipping out the door. No surprises here, speedy shipping as my projects are backing up!!!!
Lionel Canadian Pacific Passenger Train
Train is as described, like new and spotless, even though it was manufactured in 1999. I don't think the passenger cars have ever been out of their original packing, so everything got lubed and oiled. I bought them to enjoy on my layout, and they run as good as they look. I'm also happy with the Trainz deal.

Mistakenly ordered wrong scale item and within an hour of ordering communicated with Trainz multiple ways, including their online form. Unfortunately, I did not receive a response until the order had shipped and I was told that "buyer remorse" is my problem. Suggest more responsive customer service and an order cancel option for other customers as I have already taken my business elsewhere.
Bought a Fleischmann N scale BR 103 locomotive listed as NOT RUNNING SOLD AS IS
The folks at Trainz were very responsive. This item was listed as Not Running, Sold As Is. It turns out that there was a defect in the motor board. The repair of the board, a good cleaning, new tires, a little oil, and a Digitrax decoder and she runs fine. Originally I only wanted the loco's shell as it appeared to be in very good condition. I wanted to replace my original BR 103 shell because it had been dropped several times.

Have purchased items through the Trainz website and everything went smooth without problems, including shipping. However, my latest purchase was shipped via Fedex Smartpost(or whatever Fedex is now calling it) and my order went on a 13 day tour from Ga. to Penna.. The package actually went by my location 4 times, went to Ohio, and finally came back East to my location. Talking to Fedex was useless as they had all kinds of excuses. Trainz, my suggestion is to STOP using Fedex Smartpost as it triples/quadruples delivery time. (the same issue occurred with items ordered from other companies using Smartpost). Thanks for listening

I have ordered multiple times from Trainz.com directly and through eBay and have to say that overall they do a good job. While I agree with other reviewers that you can get an incorrect item or one that does not fully match the description, they have always been responsive and made things right for me. I think they need to a better job ensuring that the items in their photographs are the items they ship, and that’s the only reason I rated them four stars instead of five in service. I also agree that their shipping is higher than I’d like, but I know that cost before making the decision to buy. The items I’ve purchased have all been well packed and shipped fast.

Great selection and very good customer service. I would like to see more photos (all views) of all locos and cars. Also, a countdown on when preview listings will be released for sale to all customers.
Bachmann 44130 HO E-Z Command Left-Hand DCC Switch Turnout
Very impressed by the fast shipping (went out same day!) Product was new, and as described. Would buy the matching right hand turnout, but the pricing was different, no idea why. The price for this unit went up after I bought mine. The price seem to fluctuate so perhaps it is related to inventory. Shipping also seems to vary in price, so if you see a good deal, snag it! I have no complaints about my purchase.

Motors
I purchased five motors but received four. One of the motors was advertised as 12 volt, but was 24 volt. I contacted them and they made it right. They sent me the missing motor and refunded my money for the 24 volt motor. The trains that I have purchased from Trainz both came in damaged due to very poor packing. Again, they made it right by refunding part of my money for the engines. Their customer service is good, but the shipping department needs to have the folks trained to get orders correct and packed correctly. Part for a Z-Scale locomotive
I ordered a locomotive from them that wasn't even close to the condition they claimed. After my 5th attempt to contact them, threatening small claims court they finally responded and eventually made it right. I decided to give them another chance hoping my first experience was a fluke or oversite. It wasn't. I ordered a replacement truck for one of my engines. The description said it was for HO, so I emailed them to make sure it was in fact for Z-scale. They never answered me back. I was fairly certain it was for Z-scale so ordered it anyways. The descrition also said it was functional. Their picture of it was taken with it in a plastic bag which made it hard to see it clearly. It was for Z-scale but missing one of the metal contacts for the wheels, which made it useless and clearly not functional. After these experiences I now believe they purposely use deceptive practices to make a sale. Don't believe their descriptions, they will always say they are C7 or above and nothing is wrong. What you really get will be the luck of the draw. I will never buy from them again and advise others not too either

Site lists used items as FUNCTIONAL when they should be lsited as UNTESTED.
Track gauge
1) The product I ordered weighs only a few ounces, but took them several days to ship
2) They delivered the wrong part
3) The don't have a phone # you can call to directly speak with a representative
4) I had to contact them three times, ultimately threatening to reverse the charges, before a customer service representative emailed me with RMA instructions

I have a awesome wish list on this site. They constantly have new products. Discriptions and pictures are very accurate. They answer your question in a timely manner. Shippung is quick and i havent had any problem with merchandise coming in broken... I will continue to use them...
MTH 24pc Elevated Trestle
I have purchased rolling stock from Trainz in the past and just like with those purchases, I was very happy. Even though the product was used and the description was pretty spot on. I really could not be happier with my items. Ordering was extremely easy and was notified of the movement of the items. As a matter of fact, i got my package earlier than detailed by a day!
I took them out of the package and looked them over and will either paint over the slight imperfections or put scenery of some type to cover it up or simply put the scratched sides away from view. I must say that I am completely happy with my purchase price and the trestle itself and will not hesitate to search the site when I am looking to add to my layout and will recommend to others.
