O Gauge Trains
I have been a customer of Trainz for four years now. Never have I been disappointed. Their prices are very competitive and often the best. What really makes me feel comfortable is that I know exactly what I am receiving and in what condition it is in. Trainz has always been right on point. Their customer service has been exceptional. I have called with questions and the employees have always taken the time to fully explain the information that I needed to know. They showed that they take pride in their work. Shipping has been handled quickly and efficiently, often I receive my items sooner than I expected. Trainz is the first company I go to and I always seem to find what I am looking for. My opinion, you cannot go wrong with Trainz. They stand behind their products and go out of their way to make sure you are satisfied.
Offer better shipping terms
I purchase many Lionel parts to make repairs om items I buy, then sell, on
eBay. When buying on eBay from Trainz, I always have to negotiate a better
shipping price, because their rules for shipping don't account very well for
multiple small parts. The ship price for each small part is just added
together to reach some exorbitant total. I then have to request a reduced
price, or credit, for a more reasonable total. When i buy direct from
Trainz, they only offer a single high UPS ship cost.which seems to be based on the value of the order.
I care less about overall shipping times and would prefer other shipping
cost options for the pricing. It should be based more on weight and offer
the best cost possible from a selection of shippers. USPS First class is
perfectly fine for those packages under one pound in weightToy Train Components
I've purchased two items from Trainz: one from Ebay and one from a toy train show. Both items were misrepresented in terms of condition. They buy collections but are not checking the items in terms of condition. In both cases I was able to get a refund or a cash credit, but I'm done with Trainz. They're prices are high, if their items were top-notch I wouldn't complain, but that's not the case
american flyer accessory
Trainz advertised a new in box accessory for american flyer. What arrived looked nothing like the pictures they advertised on Ebay. Rather than new, the item was very used and totally inoperable. This is not an honest transaction and I would advise great caution in dealing with this company. Other reviews on this site also are a cautionary note as to the trustworthiness of this company.
Walthers 910-20462 HO Rock Island EMD GP9 Phase II Diesel Locomotive #4484
There were 2 problems with the GP9, neither of which were the fault of Trainz. I was able to resolve both without contacting Trainz so I can't comment on Trainz' problem resolution.
The dynamic brake sounds came on automatically when they shouldn't have. I was able to find a You Tube video showing how to disable the dynamic brake sounds by programming CVs. Since the Rock Island locomotives did not have dynamic brakes, this was acceptable.
The other issue was the very poor sound quality. I contacted Walthers (the manufacturer) and they shipped me a replacement speaker, which solved the problem when I installed it.
I was not in any way dissatisfied with Trainz and I have ordered from them since.K-Line K515002A Coca-Cola O27 Boxcar Set
I collect Coca Cola train cars and this set offered several box cars at a reasonable price. Shipping is always prompt and the items arrive as described.
10005 (snake train)
When I was a kid a friend had a 10005, it was a clock work, we played with that thing till the wheels were ready to come off. I always wanted one, and now in my 81st year I have one and around and around it goes. The priceing, shipping, everything was just perfirect. Thanks again from a 81 year old kid
Atlas N Scale Western Pacific Caboose
My order was shipped very quickly and arrived well packed and in like new condition as advertised. Price was very competitive. I have ordered multiple times from Trainz.com and will continue to do so!

53' container ho scale
My first ever order from Train was I purchased an item thier website and it said it was "in stock". However after my order was not processed after five days I contacted costumer service and they said one of the items I ordered was not in stock and had to be ordered though the manufacturer however this delayed my entire order due to one small item they didn't have. A few days after the order was then shipped after over a week.
Thinking that maybe since that one item was a rare occurrence I would try another order only this time several items and a much larger cost. All five items were listed as "in Stock". Well wouldn't you know all five items I ordered are NOT in stock and my order has again NOT been processed and I'm being told they do not have these items in Stock and would need to be order from different manufacturers. This is the second time in a row I was deceived by "in Stock" status by their website. Trainz seems to have made a habit of selling you product they do not have taking your money then leaving you to wait with no updates on when or if the item will ship. And since this the items I bought are all from different manufacturers who know how long I'll be waiting. If I were able to give 0 stars I would for falsely leading you to believe your chosen item is "in Stock" simply to get a sale only to find out they didn't actually have it but certainly take your money. I will never be ordering through Trainz again.

I have dealt with the folks at Trainz for over a year. I have had 5 different orders. On 2 of these Orders I had some problems. I notified Customer Service about the problems and Frankie from Customer Service replied and worked with me to fix the problems to my satisfaction. The time spent making those problems right was above the norms for On Line business. I will continue dealing with Trainz because of the service that I have received from them.
