One good box, rest a mess

Strange start — one small package actually showed up fine, which made the rest of the experience feel weirder. Most of my boxes arrived cracked or crushed even though I wrapped everything in bubble wrap, slapped 'fragile' stickers on, and even wrote which side up to hold. They were late, deliveries spread over days, and then, like a month later, I get billed random extra fees for 'overweight' boxes. Support just sends automated emails and a couple copy-paste replies that clearly didn't read my messages, so no real help. I expected some hiccups, but not broken stuff and surprise charges. If you have to use them, take photos, insure your items, and be ready to fight for refunds. Personally I'll try another courier next time. Kinda disappointing. Really annoying, honestly.

Mostly relieved, with a few caveats

they recovered most of my money, so I'm relieved and mostly satisfied. I only reached out after getting burned by a slick online investment—had little sleep, lots of panic, and no clue where to turn. FRED MERCY moved fast, laid out the steps plainly, and helped me pull together the paperwork that turned out to be crucial. The team was professional and upfront about what could and couldn't be done, which I appreciated; that honesty mattered. On the downside, a couple of callbacks took longer than I expected, and their fees are not exactly cheap. Still, compared to the alternative of doing it alone, their guidance made a real difference and I actually recovered a decent chunk of savings. So yeah, glad I found them, and I learned to vet platforms way better now.

    A small, weird win

they work with big carriers so you expect reliability, right? Anyway, the moment I felt relieved was odd and small: after a stubborn week they finally processed an 80% refund and sent a tracking update out of the blue. Not perfect, but when the refund hit my account and someone actually answered one clear message, I breathed. I still wouldn’t trust them with something irreplaceable, but for a stressful week they made it barely okay — and that unexpected refund was a surprise.

    Late-night Reddit find

I was scrolling a Reddit thread late one night when someone mentioned FRED MERCY — I almost ignored it. I was hesitant to hire anyone (didn't want to throw more money at a mess), but a quick consult calmed me. They were straightforward, explained the legal steps in plain language, and helped me gather paperwork I didn't even know I needed. Not perfect — there were a few slow replies and one form dragged on — but they stayed honest about timelines and kept me in the loop. In the end they recovered most of what I lost and I felt actually heard, which mattered. Learned a hard lesson about online investments, but glad I followed that tip and reached out.

Paid help that never showed up

the site looked solid so I booked a full relocation from the Netherlands to Greece, paid over €3,200, and added €266 for full loading/unloading help. I booked in late spring and moved early summer, so timing was tight but doable. First impression was fine — clean emails, a confirmation — but things went downhill fast. The main issue, and what still bugs me, was the paid loading service that simply wasn’t there. The driver told us the company never forwarded the payment or even told the local crew they were supposed to handle the labor. So my brother-in-law and I ended up doing around 80% of the loading ourselves. My back paid the price. I mean, I expected professionals to lift the heavy stuff; that was the whole point of paying extra. Communication was also terrible: no logistics plan until 24 hours before the move despite constant follow-ups, which left us scrambling. When deadlines mattered — I’d already sold my apartment and could face steep handover penalties — I had to take extra steps: rent a van, drive 2,500 km to Greece to unload, then return rental, then drive back to Greece again in my own car. That’s not “premium service,” that’s a DIY marathon with extra costs and stress. The company’s response added insult to injury: little accountability and a €550 + VAT cancellation fee still being charged. On a practical note, they also asked me to book via email rather than the website, and the email booking didn’t mention any cancellation fees — weird and sloppy. There were moments when the platform looked competent, and the concept is useful, but execution matters. If you’re considering them, be cautious about paid extras: confirm with the local crew directly, get written proof they received payment, and brace yourself for follow-up calls. I’m sharing this so others don’t end up doing what I did — paying for labor that never shows up and dealing with the fallout.

Mostly fine until something went sideways

"we're waiting on FedEx," "it's FedEx's responsibility," "we can't share the full update." Fine, I get that carriers are involved, but nobody ever offered a concrete next step. No escalation. No "here's what I'll do tomorrow." It felt like talking to a very calm robot. At one point the tracking number on my return was reassigned to someone else's shipment and showed a proof of delivery that wasn't mine. I told them. They acknowledged it. It sat. After a lot of nagging, and me pushing paperwork their way, two of the stuck items finally got released from customs. That was a relief. But the return never got proper closure and I had to chase for written confirmation — which they refused to share. So my feelings are split: when things are standard, it's easy and kind of cheap. When things go wrong, you become the project manager for their follow-up. I've used other shippers who at least escalated on my behalf quicker, so I expected more. Slightly annoyed, slightly relieved. If you're fine babysitting a shipment when needed, go for it. If not, maybe look elsewhere.

Lost box, long wait, and a strange deadline

bounced between agents, asked to resend the same paperwork again and again, and given conflicting instructions like someone was inventing rules on the fly. The worst bit was when, out of nowhere, they slapped a 48-hour deadline on documents I had already emailed twice that same day — then used that invented deadline to say my claim was invalid. Names got misspelled, messages felt careless, and a lot of my submitted documents were effectively ignored. On the flip side, one person actually apologized and tried to help pull the threads together, which was a small surprise in an otherwise messy process. I've dealt with other couriers that lost things too, but they handled claims more quickly and clearly; this just dragged on and felt unfair. The offered compensation doesn't match the insured value, and my elderly mom is still rattled by the whole thing. I had to involve EU consumer authorities just to get traction. So yeah, be cautious — there are moments of help, but mostly it's confusing and slow.
