I came home one evening and found the whole setup offline again — same routine now, every week it seems. The one bright spot was finally getting through to an actual knowledgeable person who fixed the hub over WiFi; I was oddly relieved that part worked, so thanks for that. But honestly, having to reset the entire system anytime the power blips or a socket gets switched off is infuriating. It’s not just annoying, it’s time wasted—turns out a “smart” setup that needs constant babysitting isn’t very smart. Lots of scripted agents and circular answers before I reached someone useful, and that’s been my biggest gripe. I’ve dealt with other companies where at least the first-line support could escalate properly, so this felt sloppy in comparison. I’m glad the WiFi trick exists, but annoyed I had to battle through calls to get it. If you like fiddling every week, fine, but if you want something set-and-forget, look elsewhere. Wouldn’t buy this again.
Mixed messages, solid install
would the installer show up with everything? Would parts ship separately? Turns out my worries weren't baseless. The boiler receiver showed up in the post first, but the hub and thermostat didn't. Chat support first said they'd post them, then a few days later said they'd come with the engineer. Okay, they arrived with the tech and the install went smoothly, and the app now handles my schedule and the kids' messy routines fine. So I'm satisfied overall, but the mixed messages from chat felt sloppy; a bit more staff training would have avoided the back-and-forth.
Slowly winning the connection battle
connect, drop, connect, ignore. After a few weeks of on-and-off behavior it’s settled into a more reliable rhythm, as long as I’m not moving; when I’m in a car it’s hit-or-miss. The physical thermostat is clear and straightforward to read but awkward to operate — takes longer than it should to change settings and I still can’t figure out how to set different times for weekdays directly on the unit. The app is where scheduling shines: I can change temperature and durations for each day, which is handy, though I can’t seem to add or remove time slots easily — I can edit hours and degrees but not the slot structure. The upside: when the app connects I can peek at the actual home temp from anywhere, which is satisfying. Overall it’s improved; I just hope stability keeps up. Tip: set up while standing still.
Mixed feelings about Hive
I've been using Hive for a few months now and I have to say, I'm pretty pleased with the service. The app is easy to use and navigate, and it's convenient to be able to access my tasks and to-do lists from anywhere.
One of the features that I really like is the ability to assign tasks to other people and to set deadlines. This has been really helpful for organizing projects at work. I can also leave comments on tasks and communicate with my team members directly through the app, which saves a lot of time compared to emailing back and forth.
Another thing that I appreciate is the customization options. I can create multiple to-do lists and assign different colors to each one, so I can easily see which tasks belong to which project. I can also set up recurring tasks, which is great for things like paying bills or taking out the trash.
Overall, I think Hive is a solid productivity tool. It's not perfect, but it gets the job done and has made my life a little easier. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who's looking for a way to stay organized and on top of their tasks.
