only two spots pour the good stuff, and neither is where people actually hang out. One of those bars is inside where the AC was on the fritz for almost the whole stay, and the bartender clocks out at 11 PM. The other one is out by the cabana area, but the covering over the cabanas is too short and just feels half-baked. So you pay extra and then you’re trekking to get what you thought you’d have nearby.
Our room was on the fourth floor and that exposed another annoyance: the ice machine and the water dispenser didn’t work above the first floor. We checked multiple floors, asked, nothing got fixed in six days. Phones in the room? Don’t rely on them. We were told to call the front desk to have someone from concierge come grab our luggage on checkout — that didn’t happen because the phones didn’t work, so we hauled our own bags down. Little things like that add up and make logistics annoying.
Pools close at 6 PM, which felt odd — most of us don’t want to be in the pool during peak sun. The lazy river was probably the most disappointing: half of it had no jets and the rest barely moved. Drinks are hit or miss too; we ordered a margarita that tasted like pineapple. My wife is allergic to pineapple and noticed it right away — an awkward moment, but thankfully she caught it before anything worse happened.
Room service menu is very limited (think chicken burger and hot dogs) so don’t expect culinary variety late at night. And if you come with a big group, plan ahead for the specialty restaurants. We were split up at the steakhouse for the last seating even though part of our party was already there — poor coordination on their part and a bummer when you want to eat together.
On the plus side, the spa was excellent and we had a great treatment, and overall the property felt clean. Most of the staff were friendly and helpful, honestly. Just a few teams — the steakhouse servers especially — could use better judgment with large groups. Emotionally I left a bit frustrated but not crushed; would I go back? Maybe, but only after confirming a few things first.
