Day trip to London
I recently planned a day trip to London with my daughter using Trainline. Unfortunately, our train got canceled on the day of our trip, which could have messed up our whole plan in London. Trainline quickly let me know about the delay, so I got to the train station early. They gave me a refund for my original ticket right away, and I was able to get a new one for a cheaper price than at the train ticket office. I really appreciated their help and understanding during this annoying situation. On the flip side, the folks at the train office were not helpful at all and brushed me off, saying I wouldn't get a refund and blaming me for not knowing about the cancellation even though their website had said the train was on time just the day before. All in all, I was really impressed with Trainline's customer service and will definitely use them again in the future.
Recent train ticket purchase
Even though my train to London got canceled, I gotta give props to Trainline. They usually come through for me. I was actually pleasantly surprised at how fast the train company processed a refund for half the ticket price. Their notifications and updates about delays and cancellations are spot on. And can we talk about the great deal I got on the ticket to Coleshill Parkway? That price was unbeatable, especially since I booked it in advance.
Efficient ticket delivery
Trainline is way better than Rail Europe. With Rail Europe, they send you a "NOT VALID FOR TRAVEL" voucher and you have to wait for the real ticket from the train company. Trainline just sends your ticket right away, so you don't have to waste time or deal with any unnecessary stress.
User-friendly booking platform
I thought the booking platform was super easy to use and efficient. It kept my favorite trips saved for quick buying, and I liked getting alerts about any possible delays. Not having to pay booking fees for last-minute tickets was a real plus for my frequent trips.
Train ticket purchase
My experience buying train tickets online was mostly good, but I ran into some issues with the pricing. It was easy to do, but I noticed that the same trip could cost a lot more or less depending on what options I picked. This inconsistency made me doubt the prices. Also, I thought it was unfair that tickets bought in person or from machines were a lot pricier than online. I was getting a ticket for my dad, who's not great with technology, so it seemed like the train company was trying to take advantage of people like him. I get that it might not be all the website's fault, but I think they need to be more open and fair about prices. Nobody likes feeling like they're being tricked when it comes to something as important as train tickets.
Ticket purchase
I'll get straight to the point - I bought my train tickets not too long ago, but I didn't really know how the whole experience was until I picked them up. The reminders I got after my first search were kind of irritating and sort of made me feel rushed to make a decision.
