The Mini PC I bought was totally worth it! I went ahead and bumped up the memory to 32GB and threw in an extra M.2 drive, and man, did it make a difference! Dual-booting Windows 11 and Linux was a breeze, and this Mini PC is a beast - super fast and powerful. It handled games like a champ. Yeah, there were a few times it slowed down playing games at max resolution, but tweaking the graphics settings fixed that right up. Upgrading the CPU/GPU was a bit pricey, but totally worth it for the boost in performance.
New computer problems
Since I got this new computer, it's been a complete nightmare. It keeps crashing with the blue screen of death no matter what I do. I've tried cmd scans, restores, memory scans, and reinstalled Windows 11, but none of that has worked. I even disconnected all external hardware, but the problem persists. The support chat is no help at all, they just keep cutting me off. It's been days of constant issues and running ineffective 'fixes'. This computer is just not up to par for what I need it to do.
PC purchase
I just bought a computer from this company and ran into a bunch of problems and glitches. Had to take it back and get a refund. Customer service was not great, responses felt cold and not very useful. I wouldn't suggest dealing with this company again.
Motherboard Bd790i purchase
I bought a motherboard from this company not too long ago, and I've been having a lot of problems with it. Every time the power goes out, the BIOS resets itself, and the heatsink is not that great, so the CPU gets way too hot. I paid a lot for this product, so I was really hoping for better quality.
UM690 mini PC purchase
I got this really neat UM690 mini PC and it was pretty awesome and super affordable. But, after a little over a year, it stopped working! I was pretty bummed about it, but I reached out to them and they were really nice. They ended up sending me a brand new one for no charge at all. That was so great! I definitely plan on purchasing from them again when I'm ready for an upgrade because their two-year warranty is fantastic!
Hardware purchase
I bought this gadget right after it came out and was pretty happy with it at first. But then I decided to upgrade the BIOS to get more vRAM options, and that's when the trouble started. The stability took a hit because those high-performance NVMe drives were making the voltage rail sag, leading to random reboots. Thankfully, the tech support folks were awesome to deal with. They took back the unit and gave me a new one that's been running smoothly ever since. I'm really impressed with the way the company handled the situation. I went from swearing off their products to happily telling others to give them a try.
Mini PC UM790 Pro
Yeah, so I picked up this really awesome mini PC that's tiny but super powerful! It's got this AMD Ryzen thing that makes it run crazy fast, and I threw in some extra RAM and SSDs to make it even better. It's not the greatest for gaming, but for pretty much everything else, it's totally awesome!
Mini PC purchase
I just received my mini PC and let me tell you, this thing is a beast! It got to me pretty quickly despite a small shipping hiccup, but nothing too bad. Setting up the hardware was a breeze on a fresh Windows 11 installation, just had to track down a few drivers. Did some stress testing and it stays surprisingly cool for a machine with this much power. It's ideal for small spaces.
Mini desktop replacement
I've been using Intel NUCs and small PCs for a while now, and let me tell you, this mini desktop replacement is a total game-changer. Yeah, the case feels a little flimsy, but it still looks sleek and works like a charm. The plastic might be thin, but if you don't go poking at it all the time, you're good to go. Gotta give props to this mini PC, it handles tough tasks like a boss. The power brick that comes with it really helps it shine, and it stays surprisingly quiet even when things get intense. The only downside is gaming. AMD GPUs are okay for light gaming, but don't expect them to replace a dedicated GPU. Stick to older games, e-sports, or console emulation, and you'll be golden.
The device runs fast and smooth
This laptop is super quick and runs really smoothly, which is great. But man, the WiFi on Windows takes forever to get going and only shows a few bars instead of a full signal. It's frustrating waiting so long for YouTube to load too. They really need to upgrade the WiFi card for the next model.
UM773
Ordered a UM773 - AMD Ryzen 7 7735HS / Pink (SE) / 32GB RAM+1TB SSD for 479 euros in a ''flash day'', got no communication from them for 2 days, emailed them asking when they plan to ship and then the story unfolded. First they said that they had an ''issue'' with the website and that although I ordered a 32GB Ram+1TB SSD, it was in fact a 32GB+512 SSD. Then they said they can ship me the 512GB with 10 euros discount but I said that I want the 1TB as that's what I paid for. Then they said they didn't have any in stock and they offered to send me a black one and 20 euros discount, and I said as long as its same specs, lets do it. Then they cancel my initial order, issue a refund and they wanted me pay again 529 euros for the black one even though I had ordered the pink at 479. So they tried to scam me for 50 euros extra just for a different colour as the cheaper one miraculously went out of stock. I would avoid them, they cannot be trusted. I didn't re order, but as promised, I am posting a negative review anywhere I can.
Minisforum PC
PCs are indicated on their website as being in stock locally. However, this does not appear to be the case and they are shipped from China without notice. If they are shipped at all. The credit card payment is always charged immediately and after this they can no longer be reached by email. Avoid these Chinese scammers.
X500-5700G
I admit computers are outside my comfort zone but I knew enough to get going on my own, so this review is coming from an average user. Firstly it looks great, a little ... than the palm of my hand, I was able to mount it behind the TV and loading and unloading was easy, secondly the memory, 16+512GB is more than enough. So far, no problems with this mini pc and I love it.
X400 4750G Mini PC
Don't buy from MinisForum! I bought an X400, and the headphone ports were setup so that standard headphone plugs will not fit in them. Support is painfully slow if present at all--sometimes messages are ignored. Driver updates are at a free upload site they use, that tries to install malware on your computer (by telling you falsely that you have viruses and need to click to install their fake anti-virus to clean them).
I tried returning the item within the first week, and they kept ignoring my requests for weeks, always asking for more information. Finally they said I'd need to pay for return shipping to Hong Kong (~$150) plus a 2% return fee, even though that wasn't their published return policy! Avoid this company!
