    Overall

    Nice paper, annoying single-roll wrap

the sheets are nicer — softer and a bit stronger than the cheap rolls we used before. That was a pleasant surprise; I didn't expect such a clear difference. But the catch, and honestly the dealbreaker for me, is that every single roll comes wrapped individually in paper. It's awkward to unwrap in a small bathroom, it creates a pile of extra packaging, and it feels unnecessary since the rolls arrive fine in their box. Customer service said it's for hygiene and shipping, but I buy unwrapped rolls online all the time and they travel just as well, so that explanation doesn't really hold up. I also felt a little silly when guests saw the individually wrapped rolls on the shelf — not a disaster, just odd. If they stopped the single-roll wraps, I'd probably switch back; the product itself deserves credit for quality. Instead I'm back to regular grocery-store brands because convenience matters more to me than slightly nicer sheets. One unexpected positive: their paper towels, which I tried once, did better with spills than I thought they would — solid strength there. But the packaging waste and the daily hassle of unwrapping make this more trouble than it's worth for our household. After about two months I stopped ordering it for the reasons above.

    Overall

    Relief after delay

I started the subscription in late October and used the towels right away — first impression was decent, not flashy. There was a billing hiccup and I thought, uh oh, but when the box finally arrived two weeks late and everything matched the order I felt relieved, actually happy it worked out. Customer contact was sparse, but the product itself did the job, so I'm satisfied.

    Sustainable toilet paper

The toilet paper from Reel is really great quality, but I was super disappointed to see that each roll is wrapped separately. It just feels like a waste and a hassle, taking away from the product's five-star quality. I was hoping to keep using Reel paper instead of the regular stuff from the grocery store, but the individual wrapping was a deal-breaker for me. The customer service explanation about health and safety and transportation reasons didn't really make sense, especially since I can order normal TP online without each roll being wrapped. It just doesn't line up with their goal of being environmentally friendly. Plus, it's kind of embarrassing to have individually wrapped rolls out on display in my bathroom when guests come over. That's why I went back to my old brand. If Reel stopped wrapping each roll individually, I'd definitely switch back. Same goes for their paper towels - the 12-roll packaging is way more than I need. Overall, the annoyance and embarrassment of the individual wrapping outweigh the sustainable benefits for me, so I won't be buying it again.
