Booked a compact from Orbit because I was mid-move and my lower back was acting up — needed something easy to get into and dependable for a few heavy runs. Pickup was quicker than I thought, staff walked me through the basics and, oddly, gave me a free upgrade which was a nice surprise. The car was clean, well-equipped, and comfortable on the road. Return was a five-minute drop-off. Nothing flashy, just reliable — I’ll use them again next time.
Smooth pickup, genuinely impressed
Honestly, I’ll say up front — this was a surprisingly great experience. Jacqueline at Budget Belfast made the whole airport pickup painless and friendly; I’ve now been helped by her three times and she’s consistently cool, professional, and actually cares. I had a hiccup with a previous booking and Gary, the manager, stepped in and offered an upgrade without fuss, which was unexpected and appreciated. Compared to other rental companies that feel rushed or indifferent, this felt human. Definitely recommend, and I’d love to see them get a little recognition for how they handle customers. Small things like remembering my name really made a big difference.

Booking was easy, but the pickup ruined it. Website works fine. At Flextogo the staff weren't great. They relied on their phones to translate and seemed lost. They later charged us for cleaning, which felt unfair. Orbit Car Hire handled the return perfectly, like other companies I’ve used.

Rough start but worth it
at Belfast airport a car behind us kept honking while we were entering the PIN, and the two guys in it seemed to be staff laughing. That felt unprofessional and put me on edge, but once past the barrier the trip went smoothly. I’ve had worse with other firms, so not a dealbreaker.
Nice car but surprise cleaning charge
Pulled into the lot late and honestly the car looked exactly like the photos — relieved. I hesitated before booking because I’d read about surprise fees from other rental places, and I half-expected the usual fine-print nonsense. Pick-up was fast and the staff were friendly, so a lot of my worries eased. The trip itself was great. That said, we still got dinged a €12 cleaning charge for a little dust on the mats even though I wiped things down (I mean, come on). So my suspicions about hidden fees weren't totally wrong. Overall I’d use them again, but be ready for extra charges.
Good car, short walk
Half a minute in the seat and I knew the Hyundai would do. I needed a reliable automatic for a five-day trip because my lower back flares up and I can't sit in awkward cars. Pickup was quick. No queue, no nonsense. Nikos went through the existing scratches and dents, pointed them out, which actually saved me from a headache later. The office is about 500 m from arrivals, so bring a wheeled suitcase — not ideal but not a dealbreaker. Car was modern and pleasant to drive. Felt relieved more than anything. Would rent from them again, probably.
