Holiday Autos Rental
I want to share all the details of my rental car cancelation, in order to get my refund. On DEC 13, 2021 I reserved a rental car on the internet with Holiday Autos for our family vacation in Puerto Rico. The dates of rental were DEC 25, 2021 through JAN 7, 2022 and the total was $2,097.57 and I also purchased the Allianz car insurance for an additional fee of $154. Our flight arrived in Puerto Rico on DEC 23, 2021. That day, I checked the price of rental cars in San Juan and found a car at Charlie Car Rental for $1,711.13 starting DEC 24, 2021 until JAN 7, 2022. This was a lower rate then Holiday Auto and had one additional day of rental. On DEC 23, 2021 at approximately 4:40 pm, I called 787,726-7350 (on my phone log it shows: Allied Car and Truck Rental Inc) and requested to cancel my reservation with Holiday Autos. This was the only phone number that I had on Holiday Autos and I did not have my computer. In Puerto Rico sometimes I didn’t have internet. The person that answer was a man and he stated, “with this call your reservation is canceled.” On DEC 24, 2021at approximately 7:33 am, I called 787,726-7350 (on my phone log it shows: Allied Car and Truck Rental Inc) to confirm my cancelation of Holiday Autos. I was told by a man that it was canceled and I asked him for his name. He stated “Fernando,” I wrote his name and the time the call ended on my boarding pass to Puerto Rico (which I have). Upon our return to Florida (home), I checked my credit card bill and noticed that I had not been reimbursed for the Holiday Autos cancelation. I called 787,726-7350 (on my phone log it shows: Allied Car and Truck Rental Inc) and they told me to call the car supplier Routes at 604, 370-4445 and I did. They sent me a text with CarTrawler phone number and told me to call them. I did call CarTrawler and explained what happened. They told me, they would investigate and assigned me a reference number (01811536). I have all the calls on my phone log with the dates and times and e-mails relevant to this message. On your website you have the following statement: (At Holiday Autos we do the tedious bits for you. We are car hire savvy, we know the business and we will find you the best car at the best price for your holidays. Want more? We have free cancellation and a Customer Care Team that’s available 7 days of the week.) I believe that I took the appropriate actions, based on the information that I had and the limitations in the place that I was at, to cancel the car reservation 2 days early. I respectfully request to be reimbursed $2,097.57 and $154. Your consideration is greatly appreciated, sincerely, Eric.

I am sorry to hear that you were unable to use your car hire booking with Route (PR) reserved through Holiday Autos.
Our cancellation policy was advised in the rental conditions which you agreed to at the time of booking as follows:
• Free Cancellation up until 24 hours before pick up, thereafter an administration fee of $57.00 will apply. No cancellations are allowed after the time and date the car was due to be picked up. All cancellations should be made on our online portal and not with the car hire agent. Should you agree to cancel directly with the car hire agent on arrival, you must also inform us of this change to your booking.
Therefore, unfortunately, no refund is due in this instance, as you did not cancel the booking from our portal online, as specified in the cancellation policy you accepted when you made the booking.
I am sorry that we are unable to provide the solution you were hoping for on this occasion and I apologise for any inconvenience caused by this matter.

Rental car in Costa Rica
When I arrived at the Avis office in Costa Rica to pick up the car I had rented and pre-paid through holidayrentals.com, I was told they did not have a car for me. I was driven back to the airport where I had to find a company who could rent me a car that night. Since it was now last minute, I had to pay $1,400 for a different car, when my original rental was for $330. Nobody from Holiday Autos ever reached out to me, nor did they even issue a refund. Instead, I have had to dispute their charge on my Amex card. I believe this company is unethical and I intend to sue them.
