    Backordered product and membership issues

    I ordered an item that was listed as out of stock, but I was told it would be available in a few weeks. At the same time, I decided to add a 3-month membership to my order to save some cash. But when I tried to use the membership perks, it wasn't showing up in my account. I figured maybe it hadn't been processed yet, so I waited patiently for my backordered item to come in. In January, I got an email saying my item was still not ready with a new shipping date. I kept checking on my order, only to find out in mid-February that they had actually canceled it without letting me know first. When I called customer service, they said they canceled it because I didn't respond to an email. I was shocked at the lack of communication. I had to reorder the product, but they didn't offer me any compensation for the inconvenience. The service rep wasn't helpful or willing to extend my membership to make up for the lost time.
