I clicked a TikTok ad late one night and the jacket looked great in the clips. I hesitated — the Alpinestars name was on it and that made me both curious and suspicious. The price felt like a steal, so I ordered anyway, thinking I could always dispute it if needed. The order confirmation seemed normal at first. I even felt a little excited. Then nothing showed up. The tracking number they sent never appeared on any courier site. I messaged them four times asking for a real tracking link or an update. Mostly radio silence or vague replies. After digging a bit I found other people saying the same thing — copycat sellers using the brand name. So I never got to actually use the gear; my “first impression” ended up being the ad and the confirmation email, not the jacket itself. It’s annoying, yeah, but I learned to slow down with impulse buys on TikTok. Sharing this so other bikers double‑check seller credentials and payment protection. A lesson learned, and I’m back to searching for legit gear.
Chasing a parcel around town
follow the tracking and push them if needed.
Halfway through the mess
the helmet itself was actually decent, better than I expected, so I was surprised by that, but it doesn’t make up for being ignored. My advice: don’t assume cancellation is possible, get everything in writing, and maybe steer clear if you need reliable support.
Garage moment with a boot that shouldn’t fall apart
the boots failed early. The warranty process exists. It works to the point of creating a case and promising a replacement. But the pace and the repeated documentation requests make the whole thing wearying.
I’m thankful the company didn’t ignore me. I’m also clear that I expect a concrete outcome. I want the promised replacement or fair compensation. It’s not about the money as much as the respect shown to a customer who stuck with the brand.
