awkward start, slow help, but ultimately things got resolved enough that the holiday wasn’t a total loss.
Saved money? Not really
not worth the surprise. I booked through their sister site, Sunshine, a few weeks ago and picked the virtual card to save a bit by booking flights myself. At first glance the booking page looked fine — no warning about phone or OS compatibility — so I went ahead. First impression after paying was of mild relief, like okay this is done, then I got the card info and realized the virtual card wouldn’t work on my Android. That meant I couldn't book the flights myself and had to either pay the package operator an extra £48 or argue with support. Live chat shrugged and blamed EasyJet, I pushed back and said this is their virtual card not working, not EasyJet. They eventually gave me a credit voucher toward my next holiday, so I’m grateful it didn’t end worse and that I got something back. Still, the lack of upfront transparency and the blame-shifting was annoying — felt avoidable and sloppy. I mean, it was fine in the end but I wouldn’t rely on that virtual card unless they actually fix Android compatibility.
Final decision made — won’t book here again
get anything about price changes in writing, and insist on escalation if you need a phone call. Don’t reply with an automated form; if you’re reading this, actually review what happened and contact me properly.
Sun, stress and a stubborn company
pools cordoned off, scaffolding everywhere, hallways that looked like they'd seen better decades. My first thought was "okay, annoying but fixable," my second was "wait, what did I actually pay for?" I messaged customer service expecting someone to help, and got the standard “it was stated at booking” line. No receipt of proof, no real help — just the same canned reply over and over. After a few frustrating calls (and a lot of patience I didn’t plan to have) one agent actually listened, found a small refund and helped move us to a quieter room. So my doubts didn’t vanish immediately — it was a grind — but they did, eventually, thanks to that one person who bothered. Not a perfect experience, still annoying, but not a total disaster either. If you need peace of mind, keep looking; if you want a budget option and can be persistent, you might get out okay.
Cockroach check-in
great photos online, terrible reality. If you care about basic cleanliness and being able to reach someone after you pay, think twice.
More like a warning than a review
we opened the sofa bed toward the end of our stay and there was thick black mold tucked inside like it had lived there for years. Not a little smudge—proper, gross mold. That single moment summed up most of the problems we had, and honestly it’s stuck with me more than any pretty brochure photo ever could.
