Booking flights
I'd give them 0 stars if I could. Their customer service was so bad, didn't help at all. Just wasted my time. I'd suggest staying away from them whenever you can.
Last-minute hotel booking
I had a terrible experience trying to book a hotel room through Expedia. When I arrived at the hotel with my wife, they didn't have a room available for us even though I had made a reservation. The hotel said they had no record of it. I tried to get help from Expedia's customer service, but they were no help at all. It was so frustrating and disappointing, especially since I had done my research and booked through their site. We ended up having to sleep in our car because there were no other options. And on top of that, I had to contact my bank to challenge the charge from Expedia.
Car rental booking issue
Do not even think about booking here, it was a horrible experience! I tried to cancel my rental car reservation, but the cancel button wasn't working, and when I tried to call Expedia for help, they didn't answer. SIXT told me to cancel through Expedia, but when I did, Expedia claimed it was too late. I ended up getting charged for a car I never even received. Both companies are shady, avoid them at all costs!
Flight date change
I had a tough time changing the date of my flight on their website, app, phone line, and chatbot. Everything seemed to be against me! The website and app kept showing error messages because of technical problems, so I couldn't make the changes I needed. Then, when I found the phone number, I was told that the wait times were longer than usual and that I should try calling later. Finally, the chatbot didn't even respond when I clicked on "register," just adding to my frustration. Trying to get help from customer service was a big letdown overall, and it felt like the company cares more about making money than helping their customers.
Booking issues
I booked a trip on this website, and my reservation number just disappeared! I didn't even get a confirmation email. When I got to my destination, they said there was a double booking and I had to pay more. Not cool, Expedia. Their organization is a mess, and they obviously don't care about keeping their customers satisfied.
Misrepresented auto insurance purchase
My experience with Expedia was terrible. My husband rented a car in the UK and decided to get collision and breakdown insurance for $80. But when we looked closer, we found out the insurance had a limit on collision claim payments and needed us to go through a complex process for reimbursement. The call center in the Philippines advised us to contact Expedia for a refund, but Expedia said they didn't have their contact information.
Hotel booking mistake
My experience with the company was really frustrating. I messed up when I booked my hotel room and I called customer service right away for help. But, I got bounced around and had to wait on hold for hours. Finally, they told me fixing my mistake would cost twice the room rate to change the dates by only 3 days. They said it was my fault and wouldn't help me out.
Car rental booking experience
I rented a car through Expedia recently and ran into a really annoying situation with the rental company I chose. I found a sweet deal with this one car rental place, so I went ahead and booked it all on Expedia, even got insurance to make sure everything would go smoothly. But when I showed up at the rental spot to grab the car, I got hit with a bunch of extra fees and requirements that I wasn't expecting. The rental company basically forced me to buy more insurance from them, even though I already had coverage through Expedia. It felt like a sneaky move that caught me off guard, especially since Expedia didn't mention anything about it when I booked. I think Expedia should really think about not working with that car rental company anymore so other folks don't get hit with the same nonsense.
Hotel booking in Legazpi, Albay, Philippines
I just used a booking site to reserve a hotel in Legazpi, Albay, Philippines. But, oops, I accidentally canceled my booking. I contacted customer service for help but they couldn't reinstate my reservation. They told me it was up to the hotel to process a refund. So, I decided to visit the hotel in person to speak with the owner. Luckily, he was super nice and understanding. He agreed to reimburse me for the booking, which was a relief.
Turns out, the booking platform claimed they reached out to the hotel but got no response. That was a lie because the hotel never heard from them. Feeling frustrated, I ended up booking directly with the hotel. I found out that the price was way lower than what the platform had charged me initially. When I asked about the difference, the hotel confirmed that the rate I got was their standard rate, no hidden fees or anything.Hotel booking experience
My stay at the hotel I booked online was just awful. It was a crummy motel by Yankee Stadium that was filthy and didn't feel safe at all. When I got back from the game, all my stuff was gone and neither Expedia nor the hotel did anything about it. Even getting the cops and calling them multiple times didn't make a difference. I wouldn't suggest this service to anyone.
Aurora Tour in Yellowknife
My Aurora Tour experience in Yellowknife was a total letdown. Our guide said they'd send us awesome photos for free, but even after we gave our email and pointed out which ones we were in, we never got them. I've tried contacting them multiple times with no luck, and it's really annoying considering how much we paid and how hard we worked to be on that tour.
Reservation cancellation issue
I just wanted to share with you all a recent frustrating experience I had when trying to cancel a reservation through Expedia. Even after going through all the right steps, like using their virtual app, contacting the hotel directly, and getting approval for a refund through chat, I still haven't received my $600 refund. It's pretty disappointing to see Expedia drop the ball on customer service and not resolve this issue quickly.
Booking discrepancies and pricing issue
I wanted to share my recent experience booking a hotel through your platform. Unfortunately, I ran into some problems that were pretty frustrating. The price I saw on the website before booking didn't match what the hotel actually charged me when I got there. When I brought it up with the hotel staff, they told me to contact your customer service team. To make matters worse, I ended up being charged 10% more than the original price listed online. On top of that, I was disappointed to find out that I couldn't make any changes to my reservation, like requesting a different room, because I booked through your platform. This lack of flexibility was a big inconvenience and really put a damper on my overall experience. Because of these issues, I don't plan on using your platform to book hotels in the future.
Hotel booking issue
I had such a frustrating experience trying to book a hotel online! Everything seemed fine at the beginning, but then they told me my card didn't go through. I tried using a different card and somehow they ended up charging both cards for 5 nights. To make matters worse, the hotel claimed they never received the payment and wanted me to pay again. It was all so confusing and unexpected!
Refund process issues
I've had two different experiences with Expedia where I needed to cancel a room reservation and deal with their customer service for the refund process. Both times, I faced some big problems and delays in getting my money back. The first time, I canceled in time, but got mixed messages about my refund status and had to contact the hotel directly to make sure the cancellation went through. The second time, I was given wrong info on when I'd get my money back and had to make sure it was processed right. In general, dealing with Expedia's customer service has been annoying and not very helpful.
Travel booking
I gotta say, dealing with this travel booking service lately has been a complete disaster. They've messed up my bookings, had flight cancellations without letting me know until way later, and just overall shown a remarkable level of incompetence. It's been a huge pain trying to get things sorted out too, with Expedia and the airline playing the blame game and me stuck in the middle. I spent hours on the phone with Expedia for nothing, no resolution in sight. It's disappointing since I used to depend on them for all my travel stuff, but looks like I need to look into other options now.
Flight booking experience
I recently had the most frustrating experience booking a flight through a third-party website. I booked a round trip flight from Dayton, Ohio to Dallas, Texas for May 28-30. However, on the morning of the 28th, just hours before my flight, I received a text message stating that the flight was canceled. naturally, I was upset and called the airline to find out what was going on. They confirmed that my flight was canceled but assured me that they had resolved the issue. When I got to the airport, I was told that there was no flight for me that day, and I could only fly the next day. Outraged by this inconvenience, I requested a refund. I was then told to contact the third-party website, which in this case was Expedia. I started the refund process with them, but I couldn't help but wonder why my flight was canceled in the first place. After contacting Expedia, they informed me that the flight I booked was never confirmed with the airline. How could this happen? They took my money over two weeks before the flight date, only to find out there was no booking. I had to wait an additional ten days to get my refund. I was so disappointed with the whole situation I will never trust a third-party website again for booking flights.
Booking Flight Experience
Expedia really tried to play me when I booked a flight on Korean Air for $1,000. They told me my seat couldn't be confirmed until the day of departure because I got a 'discount' ticket. I called Korean Air myself, and after a quick 3-minute chat, they sent me my eTicket right away. Expedia straight up lied to me and tried to scam me out of an extra $300. I'm not messing with them again!
Trip booking mishap
I just booked a trip using this online travel agency that promised to be a convenient one-stop-shop for everything I needed. But, boy was I wrong! When I tried to make a tiny change to my hotel reservation, I was hit with some unexpected news. Apparently, if I made that change, it would void out the travel insurance I bought for the whole trip. Not only was this super annoying, but it also turned out to be really expensive because I had to buy insurance all over again just for that one little adjustment.
Customer service experience
My time at Expedia was a real headache until I finally connected with someone who knew their stuff. I was going in circles for days, getting passed from one department to another just trying to get a simple answer. Then Clara over in the cruise department came to the rescue. She was super helpful, friendly, and upfront – qualities I didn't see much of elsewhere. If you want a hassle-free booking, definitely hit up Clara. Save yourself the trouble I went through!
