My Experience with Food Lion's Online Grocery Service
I have been a loyal customer of Food Lion for several years now. I love the convenience of being able to order my groceries online and have them delivered right to my doorstep. The selection of products available on their website is vast and I am able to find everything I need, from fresh produce to pantry staples.
One of my favorite things about Food Lion's online ordering system is the ability to easily save my previous orders and reorder them with just a few clicks. This makes it easy for me to keep my pantry stocked with my go-to items without having to spend a lot of time browsing the website.
The customer service team at Food Lion is also top-notch. Whenever I have had a question or concern, they have been prompt and helpful in resolving any issues.

My mom told me we had to go pick up some groceries and snacks at the store, so we headed to the one on the street with the big hill. I really enjoy going to that store because the staff there are super friendly and always willing to lend a hand. It's nice that they greet us with a smile and a hello as soon as we walk in, it puts me in a good mood. They may not always have everything on our list, but they apologize and do their best to assist us in finding alternatives. I do wish they had a bigger selection of snacks, that would be really great.
Snacks and drinks
I don't usually go to that food store in the city, but whenever I'm in Elizabeth city, I always make a point to stop by there because the people who work there are just so friendly. Today, I tried out the self-checkout and a lady named Ms. Kathy came to help me. She was incredibly kind and patient, taking the time to explain things to me. It was a great experience! Even though I'm from a different town, I'll definitely come back to this store just because of Ms. Kathy. She's amazing, keep shining bright, Ms. Kathy! 🌟
Paper towel purchase
I mean, let me tell you about these paper towels I bought recently. They weren't some fancy brand or anything, just a 3-pack of whatever was on sale. Let me tell you, worst decision ever. These things were so thin I could practically see through them, and they soaked up about as much liquid as a rock. And don't even get me started on how easily they tore apart every time I tried to use one. Total disaster. Needless to say, I was pretty disappointed with how lousy they were. Just did not live up to the hype, y'know?
Online Grocery Shopping
I just tried ordering groceries online for the first time, and to be honest, it didn't go so well. I got a bunch of stuff delivered, but two of the meat items were totally messed up. The pack of pork fatback was open and the sliced ham hock was all moldy. It was pretty obvious that the person delivering my order didn't bother checking the quality of those items.

I can't believe it, I went to this place and the doors were broken for, like, two whole months! Can you imagine? And then they had one door shut for "security reasons," like, seriously? And let me tell you, the management there had such bad attitudes. The customer service in the deli department? Don't even get me started, it was a total joke. I just moved to the area and stumbled upon this store on Branchwood Shopping Ct. I was pleasantly surprised to find unique items that I didn't expect. The employees are super helpful and the store has everything I need, even though there are bigger stores around that might have lower prices.

I had a really bad grocery pickup order at this store recently. A bunch of stuff was missing, some items were all thawed out, and to make matters worse, they gave my order to the wrong person. When I talked to the manager about it, they wouldn't give me a refund. Plus, I found out they won't shop for certain people once they know who it's for. The cashiers were rude, and they didn't even have everything I needed in stock. It was just a really bad experience overall.
Purchased expired Open Country dry dog food
I bought a bag of Open Country dry dog food from this store and my poor dog got super sick after eating it. I tried to reach out to Sunshine Mills, the manufacturer, but they didn't want to hear about how much my dog was suffering. And guess what? Food Lion sold me a bag that was 9 months past its expiration date! Now I'm dealing with a $3000.00 vet bill and neither the manufacturer nor the store want to do anything about it. Can you believe that?

As a regular customer at this supermarket, I've noticed something that's been bothering me about the service here lately. I get that working in retail can be tough, but it feels like the employees are kind of giving up. When I ask them questions or point out issues with the products, they often respond with a defeatist tone like, "I'll try, but it probably won't help much." It's discouraging to see them so down on their work. And not only that, I've also noticed that the products don't seem as good as they used to be. Prices have gone up, packages are smaller, and stuff like unsweetened almond milk and heavy cream are often out of stock. The store brand selection is bland, and there aren't many organic options. It makes me wonder if they care more about making money than keeping customers happy. And it's not just this store; I've had similar experiences at other places nearby. It's just disappointing to see great service and good value becoming harder to come by at this supermarket.
Three items and a lighter
I went to the store to pick up a few things, and the cashier treated me so unfairly! She told me to place my items on the counter, scanned them, and then packed them up without letting me help. Can you believe it? I had already paid for my items, and when I said I needed to grab one more thing, she made me leave my bag with her. It really got me heated! I told her I wouldn't steal anything, because if I wanted to, I could have done it earlier, right? She even spoke to me like I was some kind of criminal. I asked for a manager, but nobody showed up. It was really embarrassing and made me feel terrible.
Chicken purchase, cleanliness issues
The store's lack of hygiene was terrible. My husband got sick after buying chicken there recently and the employees, even the manager, weren't washing their hands, which is just wrong. It's pretty concerning that they weren't even doing something as simple as washing their hands. I wish I knew the names of these stores so I could avoid them in the future. People need to know about how dirty this place is before deciding to shop there.
Store experience at Food Lion
I was shopping at Food Lion and had a pretty concerning experience. When I walked in, there was a cleaning crew going around with these huge mops and a guy driving a really loud floor cleaner going super fast up and down the aisles. The store was crazy crowded since it was a Saturday night during the summer season, probably because of all the folks in town. It seemed pretty crazy to me that they were trying to get the floors all cleaned up at 8pm with so many customers still shopping around. I even saw the guy getting ready to use this big polisher, but I decided to just bounce before things got out of hand.
Beer purchase
I used to be a loyal customer of this grocery store, but I gotta say, their prices have gotten out of control. I mean, the cost of beer has literally doubled compared to Walmart, Kroger, and Dollar General Market. As someone who shops here regularly, this change really bums me out and I can't see myself continuing to come here just because it's convenient. Food Lion really needs to do something about their pricing if they want to keep their loyal customers and bring in new ones.

During a recent trip to the grocery store, I had a bit of a rough time. The store itself looked nice and had everything I needed, but when I got to the checkout, things started to go downhill. Some of the prices on things didn't match up, and when I tried to point it out to the people working up front, they were pretty rude and not very professional about it. The manager who was there didn't step in at all, and one of them even told me I should just go shop somewhere else. It was pretty disappointing how they didn't seem to care at all about customer service or fixing their mistakes. Just a simple apology would have made a big difference for me, but I didn't get that at all.
