the driver wouldn’t let us on, literally put his hands up and stopped us. That felt... wrong. We ended up cancelling and grabbing whatever was left at the airport because we needed to get to the hotel and meet family. So yeah, I paid way more than I planned — and that stung.
Here’s the part that flipped my mood a bit: after the initial chaos I reached back out and the customer service rep didn’t just brush me off. They were apologetic, explained what happened (late return by another customer), and offered a partial refund plus a credit toward a future rental. It wasn’t perfect, and I wish things hadn’t gone sideways at pickup, but that follow-up actually mattered. They didn’t try to hide behind policy; they owned the mix-up and tried to make it better.
So, would I book with them again? Probably — with a little more caution and maybe a backup plan, lol. The booking was easy, the post-incident support improved my view, and overall it turned from one of those travel-nightmares into something fixable. Just be prepared for hiccups and keep the phone charged. Not great, but it wasn’t a total disaster
my conclusion is that the company handles the cars decently but their counter operations and upsell tactics are a mess, and you should be prepared to push back. I only say “okay” because I actually got a usable car and I was able to drive off without any major safety incident, so I’m kind of relieved about that. I first heard about them from a coworker who said they were cheap and “fine for a weekend,” and I saw their booth at the airport when we landed. That’s why I tried them — price and convenience — but the reality at the counter was different than the flyer. Jumping into the middle: we get to the pick-up area and there’s literally one person trying to run the whole show. Paperwork, returns, car retrieval, everything. It slowed things down and it was obvious he was juggling. People queued up, a second worker showed up and just grabbed the next person he saw without asking who was actually next. I said something. He shrugged and said he’d “just gotten there” — which is not wrong, but asking who’s next would have helped. So right away there’s a sloppy, reactive vibe instead of any process. Then the registration problem. The reservation had a name on it but that person only had a photocopy of their license. The desk refused to accept it. Fine, except they also refused to reissue the contract under the correct name unless we paid a fee to add a second driver. That fee was more than a day of the original reservation. It felt like a weird pay-to-play rule: either accept the original (which meant renting to someone without proper ID) or pay up. We asked if cancelling and recreating the booking was an option and they declined. I don’t know the legal side of that, but it felt off. Next, insurance. I had proof of coverage in an app on my phone, which I showed them. They insisted on more specific documents that, had I not had them, would have forced me into buying their coverage. I watched another customer get trapped into that exact situation while I was standing there. It’s clearly a policy gap that becomes an upsell. Toll transponder was another unexpected cost. I use a third-party tag that works with the local toll system, but the agent said their system won’t accept it and charged $15 a day for theirs. After arguing, we negotiated down to a combined deal for additional driver plus toll device at $18 per day. That still tripled our expected cost for the day. So you end up having to fight for basic stuff you assumed would be allowed. The car itself was mostly fine. Interior was clean, no major damage, reasonable fuel level. A couple of things stuck out: no windshield washer fluid and a dash warning light for cruise control that didn’t work. Annoyances, not safety failures, but they suggest the vehicle checks are cursory. I did contact them through their “manage my booking” channel about those issues and about the way the booking was handled. They replied to a minor point in my email but ignored the bulk of my concerns. That lack of follow-through added to the frustration — sort of like getting a canned response that doesn’t address the real problems. Despite all that, we completed our trip with no accidents and the car performed. So I’m grateful it wasn’t worse, and to that extent the service did what it needed to do. Still, the counter experience, the opaque fees, and the pressure to buy things you might not need are real negatives. If you decide to use them, go in with copies of everything, expect delays, and be ready to say no to add-ons. Also, consider whether the price advantage is worth the hassle; it might be for a tight budget, but if you value a straightforward pick-up, probably not. I’m glad the trip turned out fine, and I appreciate that the car itself didn’t cause any problems, but I wouldn’t recommend them without a clear warning: bring proof, ask questions, and don’t assume the advertised rate is the final rate.
Not the smoothest rental I've had
pick up the car, drive, do my job, return it. Instead it felt like an obstacle course with a friendly-looking car at the finish line. The vehicle itself was fine — clean enough, comfortable for all the driving I did that week — but the whole process around it made the trip more expensive and way more annoying than it needed to be.
The first thing that stuck with me was staffing and the obvious chaos that comes from being understaffed. When we arrived there was literally one person running everything: paperwork, tracking cars, returns. That person was hustling, sure, but the line backed up. After about half an hour another employee walked in and just started helping someone who hadn’t been next in line. I called it out and the new person shrugged, “I just got here,” like that solved anything. It’s a small thing but it sets the tone: disorganized and a little careless with customers’ time.
What really cost me was the upsell traps and rules they either don’t mention or are super vague about. We had to change the name on the reservation because the person originally on it didn’t have a physical driver’s license at the counter (only a copy). Instead of cancelling and rebooking or making a straightforward change, they insisted we pay an extra $15 to add a second driver — which was more than our daily rental rate. That felt like being nickel-and-dimed for no reason. Even odder, they were perfectly willing to rent the car initially to someone who didn’t have a physical license on hand, which left me wondering how strict they actually are with their own rules.
The toll situation was the kicker and honestly the part I keep thinking about. I use an IPASS-compatible device for tolls on my commute and trips; it’s simple, it works, and it saves me time. They told me outright I couldn’t use my device and that if I wanted to use toll roads I had to pay their service — something like $15 a day for their toll transponder. Fifteen bucks a day. Do the math — that turned our cheap reservation into something way more expensive. They finally agreed to bundle the extra driver and their toll service for $18/day (I negotiated), but that felt like forced extortion more than a fair policy. It’s such an obvious profit play, especially at an airport location where you don’t have easy alternatives. So yeah, I spent more than planned because walking to another counter wasn’t a realistic option with luggage and a schedule.
Another nit: they asked for proof of insurance and wouldn’t tell me upfront what specific document was required. I have an app on my phone with the insurance declaration page, which saved me. I watched another person get turned away because they didn’t have the exact paperwork the agent wanted — then were pushed toward buying the rental company’s pricey insurance. It felt a bit manipulative, like they’d rather you be confused and buy their add-ons than have a smooth pick-up.
As for the car: decent, but not perfect. No windshield washer fluid (so much for a quick rain), and a dashboard warning about cruise control that never got fixed. It didn’t break the trip — I still got to my meetings — but it signaled they might not be checking cars thoroughly. Which is annoying, and a little worrying.
I did reach out afterward through the company’s preferred channel (manage my booking) to explain all this. They replied to one small part of my message but ignored most of my concerns. That felt like being ghosted — you complain, they send a canned line about getting back to you, and then nothing. If you’re looking for a smooth, transparent rental experience where policies are clear and you’re not nickeled, this probably isn’t it. If you need a car and are on a tight schedule, you’ll get the job done — but expect extra fees, some vague requirements, and a bit of friction.Car Rental - Las Vegas Location - DO NOT USE
WARNING. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. We hired a car due to their "good" price and on arrival, they decided to ignore our own insurance documents that we had printed and with us and forced us to purchase additional insurances that we did not want nor need. They basically make the line up so long that by the time you get to the desk they have broken your will and then they start the selling and what I would call, demanding money with menaces... extortion or not too strong a word. Do yourself a favour and pay a few bucks more for a fair deal. Fox Rent a Car are very fair, tiny bit more expensive but do not rip you off. So Easirent basically know that you need a rental car and you have no choice so they go along the lines of, you must take this out, (pay us more $) or we can cancel your booking, knowing full well that people do not have that choice as walk-in bookings are super expensive. When we asked for a manager, nobody appeared. After a 10+ hour flight, we just wanted our car. They also gave us a car in shocking condition, massive crash damage on the wing and every panel had dents and marks. We took a video of the damage, every single bit of it, DO NOT SKIP THIS STEP if you do go with them. Considering when a car is returned damaged, they MUST record it as they will be making the customer pay, so they knew about the damage to our car, yet surprise surprise, on return, we had to evidence that we did not cause the damage. They also do a little trick where they have the gas tank not quite full yet mark it on your paperwork as full and then charge you for returning not full. Take a photo of the fuel gauge, I did, it saved us another problem. I have complained and guess who the only person is that you can complain to... the branch manager who is clearly complicit in their actions. When I did get a reply they blatantly lied and said we did not have our paperwork. They are crooks and thieves and I really hope they go out of business very soon. I am seeking legal advise to take this forward so we will see if their corporate team are interested in engaging then. I know you can't always trust every review you read but they give you an idea. Please do not put yourself through the experience of working with these extortionists. The branch I had this experience with was in Las Vegas. As their head office do not want to hear from any complainants, I can only assume that they have this policy across the business and probably reward their staff for the up selling.
Easy, helpful, perfect size, no issues, use again
I rented a car from this place and it was so easy. The folks at the Shannon office were really helpful with everything, from setting up the shuttle to get the car, to making sure it was big enough for my family and all our stuff. Everything went smoothly, and I'll definitely be using them again.
Rented car, pressured to buy insurance, wrong car, rude staff, inconvenient location, not recommended
Man, I rented a car from this place and it was just terrible! The staff wouldn't stop trying to push their insurance on me, even though I already had my own. On top of that, they gave me the wrong car! And don't even get me started on how rude the employees were, they didn't seem to realize they should be friendly to customers. And to make matters worse, the location was a pain to get to. I definitely wouldn't suggest this place to anyone!
Decently priced but disappointing
I had to wait for over an hour, even though there were only four people in front of me. The building was so dirty, and the bathroom didn't even work. The employees were super rude, and the car I got wasn't clean at all. But the only good thing was that the van drivers were really nice.
Car rental experience
My first time using this car rental company was great back in December of 2023. The car was clean and everything went well. But, my most recent experience in May 2024 was a letdown. The car I booked wasn't there, the first car they gave me had a broken seat, was dirty, and low on gas. I swapped it for another car which was cleaner but still needed a wash on the outside. The place was super busy and it looked like they were short on staff.
Rental car deposit surprise
The lady working at the check-in counter was alright, not super friendly or anything. But I got a little bummed out when they told me about a $500 deposit that I didn't know about when I booked online. It's really not cool as a customer to be hit with surprise charges like that. It just didn't sit well with me, so I might not rent from them again next time.
Online booking deposit issue
I had a really bad situation with this company. I reserved a car online and put down a deposit of €100 on the Indigo platform. But when I got there to get the car, they wanted the full price and my deposit wasn't even listed on the bill. At first, they said I didn't even pay a deposit, but even after I showed them proof, they still wanted me to pay the same amount all over again.
Car rental issue resolved
The rental car I got from this place was doing fine until it unexpectedly broke down on me. I was so frustrated when I called for help and was put on hold multiple times, only for the call to end suddenly. It really felt like my patience was being put to the test, but I stuck it out until finally, someone called me back and we were able to resolve the issue. Big thanks to Sirvelle, the employee who saved the day. He was so patient, kind, and went out of his way to ensure I had another car to continue my journey. This whole experience just goes to show that sometimes you have to stay calm and believe that things will eventually work out, even when it seems like everything is falling apart. So, a heartfelt thank you to everyone who assisted me during this stressful situation.
Car rental experience
I had a really bad time with my car rental from this place. The person helping me had a big argument with another customer in front of me, which was not cool. They even started yelling at the customer, making things super awkward for everyone around. I couldn't believe how unprofessional and disrespectful the agent was being. It was a really bad situation that I definitely wasn't expecting when I just wanted to rent a car.
Quick and easy reservation, paid extra for SUV
I went ahead and booked an SUV online, and I even shelled out some extra money for it, thinking I'd have that specific ride ready and waiting for me when I showed up. But when I got there, I was bummed to find out that there were only two choices, and they were both just regular cars. I felt pretty let down that I paid more for a certain type of vehicle, only to end up with whatever was on hand. It was irritating and left me feeling like that extra charge wasn't worth it in the end.
Additional fees, polite counter lady
When I went to rent a car, there were a bunch of extra fees, but the lady at the counter was super nice and professional! She really made the whole experience better, despite all the added costs. It just made me feel more at ease and happy to be there.
Vegas trip car rental
I would recommend staying away from this place if you don't want to end up wasting your time and money. The check-in process was a disaster because there were only a few staff members working, so I had to wait a long time. The rental car I got had tires that were almost bald, which made me feel unsafe driving it. It's been weeks since I gave the car back, and I still haven't gotten my deposit back. To top it off, their customer service email isn't even working, and when I tried calling, I was on hold for more than two hours. This is completely unacceptable!
Car rental at Dublin airport
I was really impressed with the service from the staff and shuttle bus driver - they were exceptional! The service was fast and efficient, and they had a great selection of cars to choose from. I will definitely be coming back as a customer in the future.
Car rental experience
I wasn't very happy with my last car rental from that company. The car they gave me had an issue with the oil level, so it was a hassle during my trip. Then when I brought the car back, they said I damaged it and charged me a lot of money for it, even though I didn't do anything wrong.
Rental reservation experience
The rental reservation experience was pretty rough. I got annoyed at how fast the staff was talking and all those hidden fees they didn't tell me about upfront. It wasn't obvious I'd have to put down a deposit for using my own car insurance, which seemed unfair. On top of that, I had to fight to get extra stuff like having my husband listed as a driver and dealing with toll charges. Such a pain.
Rented car
I rented a car and we messed up the reservation, but Charles fixed it really quickly. He's amazing! When we returned the car, it was easy-peasy. Shoutout to EasiRent for making it so smooth!
Rental car experience
My recent experience renting a car was pretty disappointing. I had to wait for over an hour and a half to get the rental, only to find out it had a cracked windshield, some bad scratches, and a half-eaten box of chicken in the backseat. The smell of cigarettes was overpowering, which was concerning because I had my young child with me. On top of that, the rear windows were tinted so dark that my daughter looked like a shadow when I tried to check on her through the rearview mirror. It was totally unacceptable and frustrating. Needless to say, I won't be renting from that place again in the future.
