Rented an SUV at the airport
So, I rented this really big car at the airport and it was amazing! Everyone was so friendly, the car was awesome, and there were no long lines or any hidden fees. It was seriously the best experience.
One-way car rental to Germany
I recently booked a one-way car rental to Germany through a third-party website. When I got to the rental office, I signed the agreement thinking it was the same as what I saw online. But then they hit me with a huge surprise fee of 1100 euros for the one-way rental that they never told me about beforehand. It really messed up my travel budget and made me feel like they were being sneaky. I was not happy with how unclear and dishonest they were in their communication. The way they handled the situation was unacceptable and shady. I wouldn't recommend renting from this office to anyone because of their shady and unethical practices.
Prepaid booking with undisclosed extras
I am so frustrated with this car rental company after what happened to me recently. I had already paid for my rental in advance, but somehow ended up getting charged an extra $370 for things I never asked for. The person at the counter knew I had already paid for insurance, but still added it on without asking me. I even showed her a screenshot of my payment, but she didn't care and still made me pay. This sketchy way of doing business is not okay and makes me feel like I was tricked. I won't be using their services again after this bad experience.
Car rental experience
My recent experience with renting a car didn't go well. When I brought the car back, they wanted to charge me extra for a tiny scratch on the wheel. I knew I didn't do it, but the company's reply was not helpful at all. Even though I tried to argue against the charge, they just gave me a generic response. It's really annoying to feel like I'm getting blamed for something I didn't do. In the future, I suggest everyone taking pictures of the car before driving off to prevent this kind of thing.
Car rental experience
The customer service at the car rental company was terrible. I had a problem with the car I rented, which was a safety issue, and when I told them about it, they completely ignored me. They wouldn't give me a different car, and they even suggested I drive the faulty car back to their location, even though it was a 10-hour trip. Their lack of care and concern for customer safety is not okay. To make things worse, I had insurance and roadside assistance, but they didn't help at all in this situation. I won't be using their services again, and I recommend that others stay away from them too.
Jeep Wagoneer Rental Experience
My experience with the company was just awful. I paid $1100 in advance for an 8-day rental of a Jeep Wagoneer, specifically for my trip. But when I got to Sanford Airport to pick it up, they didn't even have it. Instead, they gave me a gross SUV that was nothing like what I wanted. The customer service rep told me they give out whatever cars they feel like, not what people actually reserved, which is just not right. Not only did I not get the car I paid for, but I wasted so much time dealing with this mess.
Rental car nightmare
I went to pick up my rental car, but they didn't have it. The guy at the desk offered me a massive van that I couldn't even drive. It was totally uncool. He said he would refund my money, but he never did. I was really upset and had to wait forever to get my refund. I attempted to call the manager, but all I got was some person from another country telling me I couldn't speak with them. This place is terrible, do not rent from them!
Bad budget experience, rented through another company
I ended up renting a car from a different company because my experience with Budget was awful. The person at the airport was really rude and not helpful at all, it was so frustrating! I didn't have my credit card with me, so I thought about using my cousin's card, but he wouldn't allow it. Plus, he tried to charge me an extra $500 because I accidentally selected a manual car instead of an automatic. The Avis representative told me they would assist me in Dublin, but that didn't happen. They couldn't help at all, and I ended up with a massive bill of over $1,000! I'm so mad about the whole situation!
Car rental experience
My time at the Charlotte spot was so aggravating! I had to wait in the garage for two whole hours, and nobody even told me about that before I signed the contract in the lobby. That's just not right, you know? It's not cool at all. I won't be going back to this company, that's for sure.

I am incredibly frustrated right now. Our car broke down just 2 hours after we got it from the airport. When we called for help, the people on the other end were rude and totally unhelpful. Now we're stuck here with no food and no transportation.

Yeah, one time we flew to Orlando for a family trip and decided to rent a car. We were exhausted after the flight and just wanted to get to our hotel quickly. But the people at the car rental place really tried to scam us. They made us pay extra for things that should've been included, and on top of that, they didn't even give us a receipt! Then the car ended up having a fuel issue - it was supposed to take diesel but the nozzle wouldn't fit! It took talking to three different people before we finally got the correct information. It was such a frustrating experience!
Car rental experience
I just rented a car from this company, and man was I let down by all the extra charges they tacked on. I made sure to bring the car back with a full tank, but somehow they still managed to sneak in a fuel surcharge on my bill. This isn't the first time this has happened to me, and it's pretty obvious they're trying to pull a fast one on customers. Today, I returned the car with a full tank and even snapped a pic to show it, but they still found a way to nickel and dime me for the tiniest difference in fuel levels. It's just not right, and honestly, it's pretty darn ridiculous.
Lost handicap sign claim
I'm pretty frustrated because I accidentally left my handicap sign on the rear view mirror at the Cincinnati Airport. I called the company that same day to put in a claim, but it's been 3 weeks now and I still haven't gotten my sign back. I tried using the link on their website for items found, but it's not working. I've also called their local number a bunch of times, but no one ever picks up. In the past, when I left sunglasses in rental cars from other companies, they were always promptly returned to me in the mail. Avis really needs to step up their lost and found process because right now it feels more like my sign is lost or stolen, rather than just misplaced.
Car rental at airport
Watch out for Avis, they're trying to scam you! I recently rented a car from them for just one day at the airport. When I picked up the car, they gave me an automatic without mentioning any extra charges. The staff seemed more focused on their phones than on explaining any fees. Then, when I returned the car, I was hit with an additional charge for switching from manual to automatic, which they never told me about. The customer service was no help at all and wouldn't take any responsibility for their staff's mistakes. I would suggest avoiding this company altogether!
Prepaid for rental
I paid for my car rental online in advance, but when I went to pick it up, they put a hefty hold on my card! And when I returned the car, they actually tried to charge me more than what I had already paid online. Luckily, I caught that and questioned it, or else I would have been out even more money. I had to email them twice to get an explanation and it took forever to hear back. It turns out they were trying to charge me for things like roadside safety net and "rice" coverage - totally random stuff. Lesson learned - always read through all the fine print before handing over your money!
Overcharged for damages
What a disaster of a company! Avis charged us for damages that we clearly didn't cause, and it's obvious they're doing it intentionally. They are completely dishonest and a disgrace to the rental car industry. This is just not acceptable!
Rip-off petrol charge
OMG, I just rented a car from this place and they totally ripped me off. I returned it almost full, and they still charged me $80 for gas! I even showed them a picture as proof, but they didn't give a dang about it. So frustrating! ?
Unsafe vehicle rental and poor customer service experience
I rented a car from this company, but I had some really big issues with it. Like, I was driving for only about an hour when I started hearing weird noises and feeling shaking from underneath the car. So, I went to a nearby spot for help and waited for them to open. They checked it out and told me it wasn't safe to drive, which left me stuck because they didn't have another car for me to use. So, when I went back to the rental place, they gave me a van instead, but they still made me pay the full amount for the Jeep I initially rented, plus the van, and even extra for gas for the Jeep. The customer service was a total letdown - they didn't even try to make things right or take off any charges for giving me a dangerous car that messed up my plans and caused a ton of stress.
Booked car online
I reserved a car online for my family vacation through Avis, but ran into issues when I got to Costa Rica. Despite paying in full upfront and declining insurance since my credit card already covered it, Avis at the airport required me to buy their insurance before giving me the car. I had no idea if other rental companies had cars, so I reluctantly purchased the unnecessary insurance just to kick off my vacation. The whole situation was aggravating and really put a damper on the start of my trip.
Double billed, poor customer service
Do not do business with this company under any circumstances. They charged me twice and said the money was just floating around somewhere, but it never actually appeared in my account. The customer service was rude and unhelpful. It's a total scam and definitely needs to be looked into.
