Review about: Amstar DMC
Now Sapphire Resort Cancun
I February 2020 we had a wonderful vacation at Now Sapphire-Cancun. However, upon our departure, we had a pair of headphones stolen from one of our bags. We had personally carried our bags from our room to Resort curbside. They were loaded by Amstar shuttle service. As shuttle pulled away from dropping us off at the airport and we picked our bags up from the sidewalk, we noticed a duffle bag seemed less full. Upon looking into the bag, it was discovered that a pair of headphones were missing. A shirt had been placed over them in the bag. The shirt remained. No headphones. I tried every avenue to report the incident but was met with doubt at every corner. First, we were told that the “airport representatives (did) not receive these comments at (our) arrival at the airport.” We explained that there were no reps to report it to at the airport at our departure and reported it upon our arrival home. Therefore, “(they) could not obtain authorization for compensation in this case”. Then it was, “As far as the alleged stolen item is concerned, the company does not accept responsibility for items left or lost that could have possibly gotten lost prior to boarding the transportation.” They were not left (except with Amstar transport) or lost prior to boarding. I pursued on without any success. This vacation was with a family of 5 for a price upwards of $10,000 USD. I certainly was not seeking a $180 reimbursement for this stolen item as to help pay for a tiny fraction of our cost! It is the principle! They are unwilling to take any responsibility. I am VERY DISAPPOINTED!!!!
