    Excursions at Riu Palace Peninsula

    Our experience with the excursions we booked through your service was really disappointing. Each location felt rushed, and we spent more time in the van than actually seeing the attractions. Switching to smaller vans made it even worse. On the dolphin excursion, we got there late because the driver was delayed, so we missed out on a big part of the experience. The ATV excursion took us an hour and a half to get to instead of the promised 40 minutes. The lack of good info and not respecting our time messed up our whole day. Even though we enjoyed the excursions, the service itself was not good.

    I've been to Riviera Maya in Cancun 13 times, always staying at the same place - Barcelo Maya Palace. Every time I go, the staff there is super friendly and always working hard to make sure everyone has a great time. On my last trip, Ariana Rodriguez really went above and beyond to make sure I had an unforgettable stay. I can't thank her enough for her amazing service, along with all the other staff there. This place is really special to me and I always leave feeling refreshed. If you're looking for a peaceful and fun getaway in Riviera Maya, I definitely recommend checking this spot out.

    Airport transfer service purchased

    I took a transfer service from the hotel to the airport recently, and let me tell you, it was a total letdown. Even though I booked it in advance and was ready at the hotel on time, no one from the company showed up for the transfer. So me and my friends had to pay extra for a different ride to the airport, which was stressful and a huge hassle. And when we tried to get a refund from the company, they flat out refused to cover the extra costs we had to shell out. It's pretty clear to me that this company is shady and unprofessional, so I would advise anyone thinking of using their services to be careful.

    Transportation services in Cancun

    I recently used a transportation service in Cancun and had a bit of a problem. The driver forgot to unload all of our luggage when we arrived. I reached out to a representative at the location, and they said the missing luggage wasn't on the van. They even claimed that I had verbally confirmed with the driver, which wasn't true at all. Luckily, my husband saw the driver loading the missing item, so it was obvious that the mistake was on their end. But surprisingly, Amstar, the company we used, didn't want to take responsibility for their driver's mishap.

    I waited an hour upon arrival

    Oh my gosh!! I had to wait like forever when I got there, but that wasn't even the worst part. When it was time to go back, they said they looked for us but couldn't find us. We had to pay for a taxi to get back to the airport! It was like the worst service ever!! And they didn't even bother to call us or anything. Ugh, so annoying. And when I finally talked to someone about it, they didn't even care about my complaint. Like, rude!

    Private van reservation

    Oh my gosh, my family and I had the absolute worst experience! We reserved a private van with Amstar DMC, but they kept us waiting in the hot sun for over 20 minutes. Even after other people who arrived later than us got picked up before us. It was so unfair! And when it was time to head back to the airport, they were like, "Sorry, we can't pick you up at your scheduled time." We had to rush and take a taxi at the last minute. Such a total scam! Ughhhhh!

    Excursions in Cancun

    My family and I just got back from a trip to Cancun, where we went on a bunch of tours with this company. The tour to Coba was awesome! Our driver really knew his stuff and the guide was super informative, making the whole trip really memorable. We also did an ATV and zipline tour, which was a blast! It was such a thrilling and fun adventure. But, our sunset sailing tour was a bit of a letdown. It got canceled twice - first because of bad weather, and then on the rescheduled date. Waiting around for over an hour only to be told it was canceled again was pretty frustrating.

    I had a horrible service experience with this company. The driver never showed up, so I had to take a taxi to the airport. They didn't even give me a refund for their terrible service. I definitely wouldn't recommend using this service provider.

    Excursion booking in Cabo San Lucas

    Last year in May, I booked a trip to Cabo San Lucas. Sadly, the company I booked with never showed up for the activity. I've tried reaching out multiple times for a refund, but haven't heard back from them at all. Their lack of communication and not following through has really disappointed me. I would suggest avoiding booking with this company.

    I recently booked a ride with this company and, man, it was a total disaster. They promised the fee was all covered, but when we got there, the taxi driver hit us with an extra 20 bucks because he never got paid. Talk about a mess, right? We were left high and dry, no way to get back except to hoof it all the way home. To top it off, they gave us the wrong time for the trip so it was way shorter than we thought. And when I tried to cancel my other bookings? A nightmare. I was totally caught off guard and deceived by this company. Save yourself the trouble, steer clear of them.

    Cancun trip transportation

    My experience with this transportation company wasn't great. When I got to the airport, it was a mess trying to find them. Finally, when I did, I had to wait 20 minutes for other passengers. The driver seemed lost and went to the wrong hotel before asking for everyone's address. It took over 2 hours to get to my hotel, really frustrating. The return ride was better, on time and quick pickups. But I was surprised when the driver asked for tips, not cool. Overall, I was not impressed with this experience.

    Excursion booking experience

    I had a pretty rough time with a tourism company on my honeymoon in the Dominican Republic. We had booked an excursion with them, but on the day of the outing I got sick with a fever. I showed them proof of my illness, including a positive COVID test result the next day, but they flat out refused to give me a refund. Can you believe they even suggested I should still go on the excursion while I was feeling under the weather? I was really taken aback by their lack of empathy and refusal to understand my situation. It was just completely unacceptable. The way they handled everything during a tough time was just shocking. I definitely won't be doing any business with them again in the future.

    Bought a tour, got no help

    The customer service was absolutely terrible. They took my hard-earned money and didn't even lift a finger to help me out. Can you believe that? They promised me I was headed to Indy, but when I arrived at the hotel, they washed their hands of the whole situation. No one was willing to own up to the fact that I had forked over my cash to them. It's just plain wrong.

    Trip assistance in Jamaica

    My friend and I went through a major hassle when our American Airlines flight got canceled on our way to Jamaica. It was super stressful, but luckily Camilla over at the local office of the company we booked our trip through really came through for us. She went above and beyond to help us out. Even though the hotel was fully booked, Camilla took it upon herself to find us a nearby place to stay so we wouldn't be stuck. She made calls and made sure we had a comfy place to stay until our flight was rescheduled for the next day. Camilla's dedication and top-notch customer service really saved the day for us, and we can't thank her enough for all her help.

    I had a really bad experience with the transfer service from Amstar. They were really unprofessional and disappointing. Even though I paid beforehand, the representative didn't show up when they were supposed to. We were stuck at the airport with no way to get back to the hotel. We had to pay for a taxi ourselves just to make sure we got to where we needed to be. Dealing with their lack of professionalism and reliability was super frustrating and inconvenient. I wouldn't recommend their services to anyone based on my bad experience.

    Catamaran cruise experience

    My catamaran cruise experience was such a letdown. I was really looking forward to sailing along Jamaica's pretty coastline and enjoying the crystal blue water, but it didn't turn out the way I hoped. The boat only went out for a short 10 minutes, let us snorkel for just 30 minutes, then cruised for 5 more minutes before aimlessly floating around. The crew seemed more interested in getting everyone to dance than making sure we had a good time. It was frustrating to see our starting point the whole time. I felt cheated and totally disappointed by the whole trip.

    Airport to Resort Roundtrip Transportation

    Rewrite in 100 words “READ IF YOU ARE TRAVELING ABROAD AND USING THIS COMPANY FOR AIRPORT TRANSPORTATION!

    If I could give this company a negative number of starts, I certainly would. I booked roundtrip airport to resort transportation in Punta Cana from 8/4 until 8/12 with Amstar DMC for 11 adults and 2 children under 2 years of age. On 8/11, a day before our departure from Punta Cana, I met with the Amstar DMC representative at the hotel lobby to coordinate the details of our return. The Amstar DMC representative contacted his customer service team to update the departure time on our reservation and a confirmation email was immediately sent to me showing the pick up time and location. On 8/12, our pick up at the resort was scheduled for 2:00 AM at the hotel lobby and we were all ready to go by 1:45 AM. The only problem was— NO ONE FROM AMSTAR DMC SHOWED UP TO PICK US UP! I waited 45 minutes at the resort lobby, at 2:00 AM, with 2 children under 2 years of age and 11 other family members and friends, to catch our 5:00 AM flight and our Amstar DMC driver never showed up! Upon calling customer service several times from my cellphone and the hotel lobby phone, I finally reached the representative I met with the previous day. After I explained to him that our driver didn’t know up, he proceeded to tell me that I had woken him up and that he wasn’t feeling well. He said he would reach out to his supervisor and get back to me but recommended that all 13 of us take a cab to the airport so that we wouldn’t miss our flight. After calling him several times without a solution for the problem, we finally took a cab to the airport and made it just in time to catch our flight. Upon my return home, I called the Amstar customer service line to request refund and reimbursement for the taxi services. I was told that I would receive a full refund and reimbursement within 7 business days. Later on, I received an email from
    an Amstar DMC customer service supervisor stating that a full refund and reimbursement for the taxi services would not be possible, only the return transportation charges would be refunded.

    Therefore, if you want a reliable company to provide airport to resort roundtrip transportation while on vacation in a foreign country, I urge you to please consider a different company as Amstar DMC has proven to be unreliable and unprofessional in various ways. Beware!”

    Private Van Transport

    They're SCAMMERS! BE AWARE AND DO NOT LET THEM STEAL YOUR MONEY!

    My husband and I made a round-trip private van transfer reservation (between hotel and airport) with Amstar Transfer before we came to Cancun for our vacation. When we arrived at the airport, they made us wait for more than 30 minutes despite our scheduled pick-up time and the private van was just a random taxi. Even worse, for the second transfer (from hotel back to airport), they COMPLETELY MESSED UP THE PICK-UP TIME and came early in the morning even though our requested pick-up time was supposed to be in the evening. They refused to pick us at the time we've already requested when we made the reservation... then they LIED to us by saying it will take 2 hours due to roadwork to get to the airport and the only way they can accommodate us would be through a bus even though we paid for private transfer at a later time. They CHARGED US FOR SERVICE THEY DID NOT PROVIDE. Ultimately, we had to call a taxi and it was way more convenient and took less than 30 minutes to get to the airport, not 2 hours and regular taxi was available whenever we needed, NOT LIKE AMSTAR. Avoid Amstar! They're unprofessional and don't care about passengers. There are much better options out there.

    Excursion and transportation

    Amstar at Haven Riviera, Cancun. We are a young couple on our honeymoon that are fresh out of college (aka not super financially stable). We booked an excursion through Amstar that we booked through the Amstar kiosk at our resort. My wife and I both got sick with food poisoning from a tour we took through Amstar. When we needed to cancel our tour; there was never anyone at the resort early enough, no email to contact, and no one answered the number we were given. The helpful front desk at our resort tried to call also, but yet again no answer. So, we couldn’t cancel our tour early enough therefore got zero percent of our money back. This hurt us huge and will never consider coming back to the area again. For us we would have liked to return since this is our first vacation ever/honeymoon, but I suppose not.

    So, the outcome of traveling with Amstar was brutal. We spent hundreds of dollars on nothing since they don’t refund even though we got sick from them. I told them our story and still they did not care to refund us a little of the money we rely on to live.

    This is not an all bad review. The other excursions were well done and easy for us. However, the flexibility and lack of customer service in times of need definitely makes it not worth going through Amstar or any other travel companies. Companies like Amstar need to treat their customers better to continue to grow their potential, but I suppose treating others well is not a part of their business plan.

    On another note, the transportation are always multiple people vans that pick you up. We had to go to multiple resorts and wait a long time for others to get on board. One stop we waited an extra 30 minutes because someone was late. This pushed our whole schedule back which in my opinion is unacceptable for the price we paid to be treated well. I could keep going on and on but I figured I should get to my recommendation.

    My recommendation is to always take a few moments to plan your own trip. Do not do anything through these companies. Take time to schedule a taxi and buy a ticket to wherever you desire on your own when you arrive or the day of. This will ensure that the wealthy companies that steal from people like me that don’t have much to my name, do not get your money.

    I am truly heartbroken from this scenario. This was the trip if my life and it got ruined from a poorly managed company. Please everyone who reads this review; try to not give these companies any business. They do not care one bit about the costumers that make their wealth possible.
