Airport to Resort Roundtrip Transportation
Rewrite in 100 words “READ IF YOU ARE TRAVELING ABROAD AND USING THIS COMPANY FOR AIRPORT TRANSPORTATION!
If I could give this company a negative number of starts, I certainly would. I booked roundtrip airport to resort transportation in Punta Cana from 8/4 until 8/12 with Amstar DMC for 11 adults and 2 children under 2 years of age. On 8/11, a day before our departure from Punta Cana, I met with the Amstar DMC representative at the hotel lobby to coordinate the details of our return. The Amstar DMC representative contacted his customer service team to update the departure time on our reservation and a confirmation email was immediately sent to me showing the pick up time and location. On 8/12, our pick up at the resort was scheduled for 2:00 AM at the hotel lobby and we were all ready to go by 1:45 AM. The only problem was— NO ONE FROM AMSTAR DMC SHOWED UP TO PICK US UP! I waited 45 minutes at the resort lobby, at 2:00 AM, with 2 children under 2 years of age and 11 other family members and friends, to catch our 5:00 AM flight and our Amstar DMC driver never showed up! Upon calling customer service several times from my cellphone and the hotel lobby phone, I finally reached the representative I met with the previous day. After I explained to him that our driver didn’t know up, he proceeded to tell me that I had woken him up and that he wasn’t feeling well. He said he would reach out to his supervisor and get back to me but recommended that all 13 of us take a cab to the airport so that we wouldn’t miss our flight. After calling him several times without a solution for the problem, we finally took a cab to the airport and made it just in time to catch our flight. Upon my return home, I called the Amstar customer service line to request refund and reimbursement for the taxi services. I was told that I would receive a full refund and reimbursement within 7 business days. Later on, I received an email from
an Amstar DMC customer service supervisor stating that a full refund and reimbursement for the taxi services would not be possible, only the return transportation charges would be refunded.
Therefore, if you want a reliable company to provide airport to resort roundtrip transportation while on vacation in a foreign country, I urge you to please consider a different company as Amstar DMC has proven to be unreliable and unprofessional in various ways. Beware!”
