Booking trouble, charged without confirmation
I tried to book a hostel for 4 nights using the mobile app, but the reservation didn't show up in my account. Despite this, they still charged me. I wanted to cancel to avoid problems when I got there, but the cancellation wouldn't go through. The customer service advice was no help and just made me frustrated. When I called Hostelworld, the voicemail said they weren't available because of Covid, which seemed like a bad excuse. I'm done with this company after this experience.
