I spotted CheapOair from a link a friend pasted in a chat and I clicked, mostly out of curiosity. Was pretty skeptical at first — the fare looked almost too low, so I braced for hidden fees or a mess. Booking itself was straightforward, not flashy, just done. The moment I knew I was satisfied was when I opened the itinerary and saw a quicker route than I expected, only one short layover and no surprise connections. I still double-checked everything, did a little back-and-forth, but it matched up. Emails were a bit generic and I had to check arrival times twice, but overall it delivered on price and convenience. I’ll probably use it again, cautiously.
Almost Duped, But Learned Fast
don’t trust the headline price, check baggage rules and screenshots before you pay. Would I recommend them? Only if you know what you’re getting into and take a few extra steps first.
Bag-fee bait and switch
I booked a cheap-looking fare and thought, nice, savings — until airport check-in. Suddenly I’m fumbling with carry-ons, they tell me my “ticket” didn’t include luggage and the fee practically doubled what I budgeted. Felt like they sold me a seat and left out the rest. At first I was pretty annoyed, because I’ve used other sites that at least show the baggage rules up front. But after the initial rant and some awkward timeout at the counter, I learned a few things: add baggage online early next time (way cheaper), and screenshots of the booking helped when I pushed support. Not saying it was smooth, but the flight itself was fine and I didn’t want to waste the trip. So yeah, sketchy listing and a rude surprise, but manageable if you pay attention and complain. Learned my lesson the hard way, won’t be blind-booking like that again.
Refund limbo and phone-tag
the process felt more like passing a hot potato than helping a customer. That said, they eventually followed up and the refund did come through after the long wait (relief!). So, skeptical and annoyed at first, ended up relieved — still, could be way more human and faster.

I first tried booking my flight online, but it didn't work out. So, I ended up having to call customer service for help. Not only did the price go up, but I had to settle for a flight time further away from what I wanted. It was really frustrating, especially since I was already dealing with some health problems. However, I have to give credit to the guy I talked to on the phone - he was helpful and tried his best to help me out.
Flight assistance didn't help at all
So, we shelled out for this flight assistance service, right? And when we arrived, the lady at check-in was seriously grumpy and not at all helpful. She was handling a bunch of folks who had missed their flights and she just seemed annoyed and overwhelmed. I mean, come on, we paid for assistance and we left without any information. That's not cool, man.
Expired Visa Conflict
A rep got in touch with me about my upcoming trip to Thailand and the issue of my expired visa overlapping with my return flight. They were nice and offered to find other return flight options, but they were too expensive and not within my budget.
Airline ticket
As a customer, I was really let down by the whole thing that went down with my recent purchase. I put in a discount code when I was checking out, thinking I'd get $10 off, but only $1 got taken off my bill. It was definitely frustrating and kinda confusing, 'cause I was counting on that discount. And then, things got even worse - right after I used the discount code, I got a message saying my fee went up by another $20 out of nowhere. That unexpected jump in price made me feel like I got played, and I was super unhappy with how everything went down.
Slow website but nice people
I just called to book my trip and the two people I spoke with were really friendly and helpful. They answered all my questions and made sure I got the best deal. However, the website was incredibly slow when it came to processing everything. It was such a pain that I ended up having to make two long phone calls just to book my trip. But hey, at least the people were awesome!
