they insisted. They refused the sale. So there I was, 8:30 p.m., kid in tow, annoyed and feeling like the clerk judged me instead of serving me.
I’ve had mixed experiences with big stores before. Sometimes staff are chill and helpful, sometimes they act like they’re enforcing a federal law instead of a store policy. So this wasn’t totally new, but it was one of those moments that made me rethink going back. The odd thing? I went to a smaller shop down the street right after — bought the same product, same brand even — and no one asked for ID. So it felt like a policy inconsistency, not safety. That’s the surprise detail: the tiny store was more reasonable that night than the place with ten times the foot traffic.
I get the idea behind ID policies — stores try to be careful about chemicals, restricted items, whatever — but when a clerk refuses a perfectly reasonable alternative (digital ID), and won’t use a little common sense ('this woman looks over 18'), it feels petty more than protective. The way it was handled made the whole trip longer and needlessly awkward. My kid was bored, I was hot under the collar, and the line I’d already stood in felt like punishment.
On the flip side, I’ll admit there was one unexpected helpful moment: a manager nearby overheard the exchange and quietly told the cashier to let her handle the situation if the customer wanted to wait. By then I’d already left, but that small act — someone trying to step in to fix the awkwardness — was a nice contrast to the rigid no. Maybe if I’d waited, it would’ve been resolved. That surprised me, honestly, because I’d mentally written the whole store off in that moment.
Bottom line: my pre-purchase doubts weren’t soothed — they were confirmed. It wasn’t about safety for me, it was about how the policy was applied and how little leeway staff were given to make a sensible call. I won’t go out of my way to shop there anymore; there are plenty of places that treat customers like humans and can be reasonable about ID. Annoying, because I used to be a regular. Now I’ll take my dollars to folks who won’t make me prove I’m 43 and tired. Not buying into the whole ID drama
30 at night with my seven-year-old trailing me. Right away I had that weird feeling — not paranoia, just history. You know the stare: employees sort of orbiting, like shoppers are on some reality show. I’d been thinking about whether to even walk in. I’d worried about being hassled before I bought anything. Those doubts were loud. I thought, maybe I should just go somewhere else. But it was late, I didn’t want to drive all over, and I needed the stuff, so I went in anyway.
Ultra Sonic cleaner
Product missing specific fill to lines in cleaner. No access to manufacture to clarify Walmart using AI can not understand the problem Then told it is a final sale item, which was never stated and as of today still not stated. Unable to get Walmart to answer phone with real person to return item, Store is also unable to return item, shipper wants $ to ship back.
Mostly delivery wins
Arrived fast, support replaced item — now good for lunches.
Quick stop
Walked in hungry. Produce actually fresh, glad it worked.
Mid-checkout relief
Halfway through checkout I saw the total — needed kids' supplies, tight budget, relieved; packaging meh.
Late but useful
Felt relief when it finally showed up after days — needed it for sore back during move.
School haul win
Totally worth it — saved a ton on my kids' school stuff, used daily, super relieved.
Didn't expect this
Was hesitant—bad back, shady movers before—but they were careful, and that surprised me
Quietly impressed, not perfect
Started going last month; first grocery run was stocked and cheap, that’s when I felt relieved.
Back on my radar
Delivery was on time, customer service helpful; decent prices and stock, not flawless though.
Quick fix, like always
Right after my first order — a friend recommended them — issues got fixed instantly, relieved
Wrong-house hiccup, then relief
Was mid-unpacking from a move; driver left at wrong house, but customer service actually helped—relieved my sore back.
Convenient but flaky drivers
I'm stopping for now. Loved the convenience, but drivers keep leaving at wrong places, argh — repeatedly, so yeah.
Parking lot patience
Overall okay — I was skeptical after an hour waiting in the parking lot with no updates; a coworker had recommended them
Worth the wait, honestly
Overall liked it — went last Saturday, lines were long (30 mins-ish) but staff were friendly and prices fair, glad I tried it.
Long wait, decent outcome
Right at the till I finally relaxed — waited ages, but staff handled my issue well, cheaper than others, still not perfect.
Unexpected lifesaver
Was skeptical before I stopped in while staying at the Wyndham, but it fixed my weekend — stocked, helpful staff, coffee pods surprised me
Wasn't sure, ended up happy
smooth checkout and surprisingly fast delivery, relieved.
Flagged after years
I hesitated before ordering since my account kept getting flagged. After years as a loyal buyer, every purchase was canceled and offshore support couldn't fix it, pretty frustrating.
